I'm about halfway through using Tau to complete the game and they rock, as long as you figure out what tactics work best with which race, your'e sweet. When fighting imperials, i just build a massive squad of stealth warriors who jet-pack up to the tanks, emp them, them cut them to shreds with fusion cutters and jump out again before any of them are reduced to only one member.
The Drone harbringer is awesome too, just keep sending those little buggers into the enemy base and they're too busy killing them to notice the stealth warriors jet-packing in from the rear to take out all their buildings.
Necrons are tough but slooooow, by the time they reach you, the entrenched warsuits, skyray missle ships and firewarriors have cut them to shreds
I like the Necrons more, the tau are just boring to me. There so incredibly easy to use, and i find their fluff is for the most part lame.
They have pretty good tactics only because of stealthsuits and vespids, other than that it's either a massive assault with krootox, kroot or hammerheads which are pretty easy to wipe out with the right troops, or they do the creeping artillery line, consisting of skyrays, drone spam, and FW's.
I like necrons because believe it or not i think they are a more tactical race, well they have good potential to be. although slow, with all the abilities available via the necron lord, and the fact they have phase shifting/deep striking units to get in behind enemy lines, this leaves many opportunity's.Theres the common mass warriors/flayed and then res them method, which is effective but not very exciting. The phase wraith meatshield + solar flare combo to deal with those pesky shooty units. the phased unit squad combo, in conjunction with some destroyer lords allows you to walk right up to an enemys frontline and posses there vehicles lol. and many more, i just find them fun although i don't really use either tau or necrons on a regular basis.
i believe that the tau are alot mobile and have awesome guns. and if you gave the kroot better melle and health they would rock out loud.
But the necrons are very hard to defeat once they have the engaged monilith
raise recall very simple and strong econ almost most powerfull starting unit wraiths best detector in game (scarabs) almost best late game commander very powerfull vehicles I believe the AV (immortals fotm, range speed, dmg) warrior 80% fotm should I ramble on?
whereas tau second best early game shooter (after dreaps) possibly late game best av (ss) very strong unit (vespid) good choice- can go both shooty or meelee. relatively good early commander
The tau have a very strong t1.5 but after that.....
Thread died november the 1st, leave it be.
LOL NECRONS ALL THE WAY Well, once you get power up, you will be owning
Tau is the best although the fire warriors are a little expensive they still own and if you can get close to them they can send krootox to destroy everything. but i like the space marines.
I've said a hundred times, and I'll say it again. Tau are Shit. :p I can't play with them. neither can I play too well with Guard, but even comparing the two, I can play a lot better with Guard than I can with Tau. For starters, Guard have turrets. But yeah, Necrons over Tau, I find the Necrons easier to play with. The Tau campaign is the only one I've not yet completed. Why? Because usually I capture a point, build a few turrets, and defend it whilst I work on other things. You can't do that with Tau however, oh no.
NECRONS OWN TAU! Necs are strong (the necrons warriors have 100 health each), easy to get resource, can take other peoples vehicles, have the flayed ones and nightbringer and monolith, very adaptable leader (artifacts), poweful turrets, can teleport flayed ones and necron warriors back to base if in trouble, exellent defenders etc etc you get the picture. Problem is they only have 1 prodution building, BUT TAU HAVE NO TURRETS!:runaway: <=== Necrons owning tau
I just want to say one thing: Tau will always prevail! I mean, think like this, build FireWarriors in an open map and build Kroot in an enclosed map! It always work, and I mean always, even when the Necrons decide to put flayed ones in the the middle of the Tau, nothing can withstand the power of the pulse rifles!
