Well, I'm terrible with the Necrons, they're slow moving units kill me...I like to use the "gun and run" tactic. With so many hard hitting units, one might as well march towards the enemy unleashing hell with their gauss weapons. A steady march forward (and a good back up plan) worked for me the few times I played as the Necrons.

Their tough in the beginning and necron warriors don't cost anything to start. Rush first ask questions later.

Even though most people don't know it. And don't play that way. Necrons are sadly very versatile and flexible.

Warriors, flays, wraiths, lord etc... All give them many edges and unique strategies. Too many sadly :'(

I always make use of the warriors and flayed ones ability to teleport to building, normally I teleport my monolith into the base then let a bunch of warriors appear with it and a load of flayed ones appear in the middle of their base. I also take advantage from the tomb spyders recycle ability, normally when my warriors die, I recycle them as immortals.

I feel necrons are misinterpreted, I feel they are not in the least OP.

Its not that there op, just that people tend to use the same strdgy and continuing to loose from that same strdgy. Since they could not over come it- people ten to say necrons are IMBa

Oh, but they are.

The problem is, that a necron can easily counter any strategy you throw at him.

Quick recall ability. A friend once tried plain wraith spamming. I had a chance in the begining. Then there were as many wraiths as my units and GG. Since the wraiths are about as fast as you with fleet of foot...

Being a specialist anti-necrons I can say a few things:

Necrons are incredibly slow. They can have wraiths, yes, but to be effective they would need a whole army, which can't be separated thus they can't cover all the map effectivelly. Necrons can't be defending and attacking at the same time, so when being attacked, always attack them. They'l use the summon ability and return to base. In the time they take to return to their assault, there is plently of time to mount a defense, or in my way, a trap. The most important thing, never let them advance to the tier3. EVER! Having a monolith followed by a horde of necrons entering your base is not a nice sight!
