okay i dont know if this has been asked before, and im sorry if it has, but here goes: when playing skirmish games, with allied and enemy comps(like a 3v3) does it seem to anyone else that the comp doesnt fight back on the same level as the enemy comps? what i mean is my comp allies are still massing t1 units with maybe a rhino/landspeeder here or there while the enemy seems to be attacking us with t4/relic units, i myself will of course be at t4 by this point but it just seems the ally comps will tech but not make the most of it. i have played with the fog of war removal cheat to see what the enemy comp does different but to no avail...there seems to be no difference. any suggestions or just general discussion is greatly appreciated thanx!!!
it could be that they are on different difficulties or there is just something screwy but i have seen games where allied CPU arn't as good as the enemy to balance it out so it could simply be a balancing thing but i usally play 1v1 so i've never noticed
depends on who you allied race is, sob usually are god allies, imp and tau not as much.
also try the skirish ai mod, you can give your allies boosts and weakn your enemy just in case.
i have also noticed this issue. its strange, to be blunt.
It's to balance the game. The AI is bad and has to actually cheat to be able to compete with a human player. Never heard of allied ai's having any reductions, but still could be possible.
Another possibility - are you playing on shared resources or not? If that's the case, your lower income (ai's have more) is actually pulling your two allies down and they don't hit the resource marks to tech up.
thanx all for the info, ill check out the skirmish ai mod n see what thats like? isnt that the same ai that they use for FoK and SS enhanced? oh and i never play with shared resources on, i cant stand that cause in multi i would always seem to get stuck with a teammate(or 2) that decided not to build gens ... id have 6 with a power rate of 29 lol and as far as the comps themselves, yea the guard is a bad ally to have if its not a human but i guess thats par the course for the poor imperial boys lol
Ive been playing 2v2v2v2 I moved my hq and buildings to my allies base for better defense and the AI imperial gaurd just massed a giant amount of units, vehicles, baneblades where my starting hq used to be. When i attacked their base all the units standing there moved to their base so it was very hard killing them. This happed many times and it pisses me off!
thats the typical ai, they defend there main starting position with a passion, funny how some people could actually learn from that...
It seems to be a trait from certain maps you choose. One map the Tau AI would actually tech all the way up. Others your ally AI are teched all the way up and the enemy hasn't even rolled out vehicles. Others it's the opposite. Ork and Eldar AI can be quite messed up. Enemy orks might build alot of banners in their base if they're sandwiched, but your own orks won't do that. One map my chaos ally is useless and im up agaisnt a landraider and a restored monolith stuck in it's base, another my chaos pals mass up defilers but no tier 3 stuff and my enemy(IG/Eldar) aren't entering tier 2. Simply retarded. On Hard btw.
