Let's take a moment and talk about the Sisterhood... I've been playing around with them against humans in multiplayer and against computers with difficulties ranging from easy to insane with quite poor succes. someone shed some light into this and tell me What are the Sisters of battle good at? what is their greatest strengths? Battle sisters their basic squads are suppose to be precisly Female Space marines but they are cheaper and weaker in every way they, loose in melee combat to Guardsmen cultists and have hard time taking down Firewarriors in hand to hand combat? and even with all the upgrades i'm not impressed with the firepower they can muster Crappy flamers and 'Meh' heavy bolters.

Celestians So we must use them to compensate Battle sisters poor weaponary right? well both the Melta and the Heavy melta strikes me as totally crap weapons which take too long to "weld" both vehicles and infantry down, and the celestian squad in general has too few troops in it WHY YOU CAN'T LOAD CELESTIAN SQUAD TO A RHINO?!) Guess they are too fat chicks or something only developers in their sick twisted way of seeing to the race balances know for sure.

Seraphim Squad Actually does more damage with ranged attacks, thus ranged is their default stance but Powerful ranged infantry should still be engaged in melee to deny them use of their heavy weaponry And the problem strikes me where like most SOB units they get totally pwnd in melee!!! so what's the point?!

Sisters repentia How often you use those Assault Terminators again? and once again when you're at Tier 3 and at the height of your researches it's usually too late one way or the other and there's the kill faster and die faster skill but i don't think it's a good idea since getting them to melee alive is already a challenge.

Living saint Bloodthirster, Avatar, Daemon prince, Great knarloc, Nightbringer Yeah we seen it all we fought them all *yawn* nothing new on the western front of slow super sturdy melee units. keep running in circle while others pump it full of lead.

What about the Armor?

Immolator park it near enemy and wait for 3 minutes for it to kill a single guardsman and then onto the next one. i have yet to see such vehicle which 'can't' destroy the immolator before it manages to kill it even with the Melta upgrade

SOB Rhino is nice with the laud hailer skill and a shooting turret but like i said before the basic battle sister squad is 'almost' the only one allowed to get inside them

Exorcist Well it's the first actually positive unique and destructive unit i have seen for them of which i don't have nothing bad to say... artillery is artillery.

Penitent engine When you get to Tier 3 it's all too late already. otherwise it's all good and sturdy though it looks like the graphics team didn't have time to put Shaders on it....

Do i even need to mention the flyer?.... thought so.

So the SOB Waagh.. no i mean "faith" is what they rely on? Without missionaries all their units are waste of space? thought the faith powers are powerfull only 1 skill can be active at the time per squad and the resource is hard to come by so i really don't see their faith saving the Sisters of battle when that Necron monolith escorted by destroyers is bearing down towards their base.

Is there something i haven't noticed?..

Well.. Actually Celestians are quite good to me. I deploy almost 5 squads of them and try to concentrate fire.. The average vehicle lasts 5 to 10 seconds this way. I support them with 3 Sisters of Battle squads (Missionair attached), just to spot infiltrators, have some cannon fodders (just like Guardsmen) and show some shiny miracle when needed. Celestians weapons seem good to me, the only flaw is that they don't throw enemies to the ground.. I have to say that I never played against a human opponent by now in Soulstorm: I'm waiting for the patch.. But the AI at Insane difficulty can be handled quite easily with this tactic. So: 1) 3 SoB with Missionaires 2) 3 Celestians 3) 1 Celestian with Canoness 4) 1 Celestian with Confessor According to me their Armor is a problem indeed..

Actually you missed a hell of a lot Battle Sisters are NOT female space marines. Read a codex once in a while The flamers are extremely powerful when you have a couple of squads of them - better than heavy bolters in fact. Although whoever thought that battle sisters should get heavy bolters deserves to be shot. STORM BOLTERS AND HEAVY FLAMERS PLEASE I agree that celestians should be allowed in the rhino, but remember the krak grenades as well, which are uber powerful Seraphim are better at shooting anyway. Again, read a codex. They should, however, be better in combat than battle sisters, guardsmen, cultists, guardians etc, as they have I4 and 2 CCWs Sister repentia are actually very durable. Load them into rhinos and watch your opponents face (if you could) when you unload repentia, canonnes and confessor on their base Living saint.... well the only other relic unit they could have had was Inquisitor Karamazov (throne of judgement). If she had a sync kill she would be good Clearly you haven't used immolators much, or en masse. They rip through enemy lines surprisingly easy, and they break morale. Melta upgrade sucks, but is a lot more effective against buildings than vehicles for some reason Rhino is bad to me because it uses vehicle cap Exorcists. I hate them. Whos stupid idea was it to make them artillery? READ A CODEX RELIC Penitent engines are good if you have time to make them. Have these spearheading your assault with a follow up of battle sisters, seraphim, and a living saint up front with them and they are amazing Lightening fighter is the best dogfighter i the game. No other aircraft will win against the lightening in a 1 on 1 fight Some of the faith skills are amazing. Those summoned angels are very powerful, and the confessors strike is outstanding too. Also the emperors touch is good, since your average battle ssiter actually rips through tanks when this ability is active.

I don't think they are crappy at all.

The sisters aren't as heavy as SM but they come in much greater numbers. Seraphims are a dancer unit and should be used to draw fire then retreat and then jump back in they have an awsome damage potenial thans to their angelic vision skills, wich isn't faith based and ccan use crack grenades.

The only two units I find hard to use are the cannones, she is about hte weakest commander unit in the game and the excosist, even with FoF it's unbelievably inacurate.

Seraphim should not! ever engage ranged specialists with the exception of flashgits. The seraphim are anti meelee specialists since they can outrun and outgun enemy meelee squads. Though they're different than the rest.

The exorcist is probably the artillery in the game.

And I think you keep missing one major point. The sisters win and loose by their faith powers. If you don't use them, you loose. If you loose them, they can be lethal.

So the Sisters of Battle are just simplified Imperial guard? you must rely on huge masses of Battlesisters and Celestians to swarm enemies and press the Faith power button now and then? meaning that without missionaries performing the powers majority of Sob units are nearly useless?
