Ok guys. I have DoW:WA. Great game and all that but here is my problem. Perhaps you all can help me but I have played multiple skirmishes (at least 30 games) on Hard on the Chaos Temple Map. I usually play Eldar and have (at least in DoW) done fairly decent on Harder. There is no answer now for Terminators and Whirlwinds. This is Bull**#& Now I see 4 people on the "Balance Team" and with Chris Becker as lead my question to you is: What did you all do? Play SM the entire time? It took me the Seer Council, 3 squads of Spiders, and the Farseer (all upgraded) to take out 1 (ONE) that is ONE Terminator squad and that is after about 5 mins (because of regeneration). Used to be that Reapers could handle Terminators now they are essentially useless along with Guardians, Shuriken Cannons, Eldar Riflemen (can't remember the name). Are you kidding me?!!!??!??? Not to mention the Whirlwinds. The comp lines up 5-6 WW and thats it. Dragons can't get close. You could send Wraiths but with 6 Terminator squads running around your Wraith whats the point. No. 6 of the best Eldar tanks didn't do squat either. Couldn't cuz, while the Terminators were raping them and blocking the great pathfinding the WW were WAAAAY back. Brightlance will be taken out in 2 that is 2 WW shots. Oh and I thought that there was friendly fire damage in this game??? Not with the SM at least. Sure didn't do anything to the 6 Terminator squads and Heroes that seemed to magnetically bonded to the ground while the WW were launching missiles all over the tanks. I am I the only one here that has noticed this or is EVERYONE a SM player. HUGE and I MEAN HUGE balance issue here and I hope the damn developers are looking. I am learning how to MOD now cuz believe me WA will definitely need to be modded. Shorten the WW range and engage FF. Weaken the Terminator armor OR make them more costly OR decrease their cap limit to 4 or something like that. Yeah I am pissed. Anyone out there try to have two SM opponents and see how YOU do. Now I know what some are going to say. "Well if you just stop the SM from getting to tier 3 then you don't have a problem". Problem I have with that argument is then why even have the 3rd tier exist then because the late game is thus null with the huge SM adavantge. I still have yet to see the IG get to 3rd tier against anyone. I am hoping I am just missing something. You tell me.

Dont let the sm go to tier 3. Dont play quickstart all of the things you are moaning about are good because they are tier 3-4 also you should have 30/15/15 cap 30 bright lances\15 cap off reapers\15 squads of firedragons + a avatar. There is no balence issue get fleet of foot too. Eldar guardians\rifle men as you described them suck dont even bother/ Get some prisms if you want to screw with the termies jump past them and just open up on the WW i have faced this combo so many times its not really hard. Lots of ways to counter it no balence issue and probly no patch for it. The point of tier 3 is to not have eldar owning it sm tier 1 eldar own eldar > still tier 2.

Dont caomplain just because your losing to space marines, If you play the tabletop u should know termies are way hard to take out, and gaurdians arent the best offence ever, personally I think that the laspistols of the imperial guard are too powerfull, 1 SM sqaud vs 1 IG, guess who wins? the IG, that would never happen in the tabletop. And if u hadnt notices, they made computers alot harder now.

Maybe it's the AI, thats all improved, i noticed yesterday that the 'standard' ai is now a pain in the ass.

I have to agree w/monk about the Termie balance issue. There are ways into a players ranks rather than shooting. It just so happens they made chaos a little silly, just infiltrate and drop horrors on them. Horrors are retarded anti-vehicle now, which they should not be with only str 4 flames. I think scouts are sick now, but a good micro can out dance the computer for a minute. The AI is much more impressive now. Standand can pose a threat to an unorganized team. I find IG on harder difficult. I have to start the fight ASAP so I can win. You have to rush the CPU or kick its ass when it rushes you. Space Marines have the best end game of any army. Chaos has the possessed and bezerkers now and rule with orks in HtH. Anyway, ppl said there were balance issues with the first game and then 4 patches later, SM got a little tougher. We have to get good at what we have and learn the others weaknesses. GL.:naughty:

ok heres my problem, i've played dow sinse it came out last year and now have winter assault, on all my skirmishes i can win unless i'm against the imperial guard who just happen to rush you at the very start with one squad of 4 guardsmen and a commisar. this just happens that this 5 man squad can kill 4 squads of scouts and a 8man space marine squad in close combat at the same time.... WTF IS UP WITH THAT!!!! on tabletop guardsmen are nowhere near as good at shooting or cc, but on this they are better at both!

you do have a point, I figure they will patch it and fuck it up even more. IG are a little weird. Does their lasguns do more damage than cultists? If so why? I have played a few more skirmishes with chaos, and they were literally raped. I agree in that chaos no longer has rockets. They have become almost completely CC. I guess they wanted to make them a little more different from SM, but they ARE SM! LOL. I like the bezerkers alot... What is their HP? My says NA... What does that mean? How do they not have a number. The Bloodthirster no longer loses health... That is good, and only one Land Raider can be made... Which makes sense. You can not have 2 or more bloodthirsters. The baneblade is beautiful but way over powered. I have not built a squiggy yet, looking forward to seeing if it is as bad as the campaign one.

Good work nurgle you figured it out ^_^! But chaos anti vehical cant be uber like rockets because they just get to instantly warp them in. Oh yes and all units with more then one member have N/A health but they also have N/A moral which is probly what you were looking at

My only opinion is that sm seems to get better with each patch. It's like the sm are a favorite of the developers and they refuse to pentalize em too much. I mean, whoopdidoo they made it so only 1 land raider... Who uses em anyway??? Anyone who's any good will use mostly dreads, maybe a couple wws, and perhaps the 1 land raider now that there's a limit and they cost less pop. I am an Eldar/SM player myself but i think eldar and chaos got the short end of the stick... Chaos are horribly weakened even though defilers are back up to speed and eldar lost it's best infantry, Dark Reapers. The crap damage reapers do now has to be replaced by more expensive, harder to upgrade Warp Spiders. Also B-lances got screwed cuz they lost their main advantage, rockets and lasers didn't hurt em much, niether did wws. But now they are so easy to kill by anything that aims at em. I hope a new patch will,(and i'm not gonna sm bash cuz it doesn't do any good), strengthen the eldar some and give chaos a fighting chance in ranged combat. SM and IG should be set for a while to come...:mad: :eek: :uhm:

By the way, WWs die just as fast as they used to even though the friendly fire has been reduced, if you are an eldar guy, then just use fleet of foot to get a couple squads in close to em and kill em. Not tough. As for the Terminators, yes they are good, but not unbeatable like you make it sound. With eldar u gotta use a few prisms to blast em off their feet while shooting em with spiders. Maybe a couple banshee squads just to stall em in melee while you are shooting. Or possible a few wraithlords will stall em enough since they build so fast. The farseer does a number on em too, just keep all units aiming at 1 squad at a time untill it's dead, then the next squad. Good Luck, hope it works out for you.
