Well, being a avid Chaos Player in DoW, i'm dissapointed when i pop in the exansion and notice some things DRASTICALLY diffrent. I didn't notice at first, because I was going through the first 2 missions in the campaign as chaos, so i assumed they were disabled because it was early in the game. I notice with later missions that this is not the case. Why the hell do Chaos Space Marines only have heavy bolters? Where did their other heavy weapons go? who in their right mind made this decision? My gameplay with Chaos has suffered so much because of this. I can't even make it past the end of tier 2 now, even when doing my best to keep the enemy at bay. Now, before you say i'm problably a complete noob, I can hold my own in DoW online play as Chaos, and since the expansion, i've been getting slaughtered. If the missle launchers were the only thing missing, I would understand because that makes Horrors more important. If the Flamethrower was also missing, I wouldn't mind because Defilers and Possesed Marines have them. But why the Plasma pistol? cultists have plasma pistols. But cultists are typically only useful in tier 1, and then you toss them aside. Sure, Aspiring champions have them, but that moves the possible total plasma pistol count from 5 to 1 in CSM squads. What also makes me mad is that Space Marines have ALL their heavy weapons, as opposed to 1. Sure, they have to wait for tier 2 to use their Heavy Bolters, Missle Launchers, and Plasma pistols. But that was already the case in DoW (minus the heavy bolters). Now SMs have a HUGE advantage against Chaos at the beginning of tier 2, where normally i'll instantly switch to Plasma Pistols. The description in the 'help text' says CSMs can be upgraded to be more effective against heavy infantry. This is not the case. Also, the same thing shows up for Raptors, but they have no heavy weapons at all. IF the Berzerkers were a little more powerful, I wouldn't minds. But Berzerkers seem to be nothing more than un-upgraded Possesed. Orks and SMs received new HQ units, but Chaos and Eldar only got more infantry that doesn't seem to make a diffrence in gameplay (how many Eldar players online do you see using Fire Dragons?). Sure, I tried to get used to this new enviroment, but I haven't seemed to be able to adapt so far. I even tried to play as Eldar, which gave disasterous results, and as SMs, but since I haven't played them since the DoW campaign, i'm pretty sluggish and awkward with them. What is a Chaos player to do? So, that all said, any advice, comments, or rebuttals?
Space marines have nothing. No big ass tier 2 unit not a damn thing. However the plasma pistol? Who needs it a khorn berserker will tear apart 2 plasma squads. Berserkers are a huge lot better then un upgraded possessed Simply because they have no moral. No breaking and a ton of health and cheaper then a normal marine reinforce. Chaos heavy bolters are good vs heavy infantry and normal infantry. How does sm have a huge advantage you can hard tech there. Lets do some basic stuff.
Space marines to get heavy weapons and basicly the essentials
. Chapel, barracks, armoury tier 2, tac squads bionics and target finders cant live without those, you need the champlain for his healing, Damn now we need some vehicals,machine cult,dreadnought,ect that will cost a hell of a lot.
Chaos essentials temple,armoury,tier2,berserkers that cost less then marines at a small power cost roughly 2 squads for every plasma squad, Oh noes they got vehicals early so you build a pit, Deepstrike some horrors, Oh noe the plasma is still chewing me up! ,machine pit, pred/defiler

I noticed you liked chaos oO i do too ^^", i just haven't done well with them recently *nods*, but that's my own fault for not catching up fast enough. Although, seeing your argument... I guess it's not so bad. I just don't jump to making Berzerkers fast enough because of my clouded judgement to something I don't completly understand (I blame the manual for not being as specific as the DoW one) *shakes head*. I guess the sudden change with no warning hit me (I only was only expecting the Imperial Guard with the new units) Well, it'd be nice to have those weapons back, but I guess you don't need them. I couldn't find what would do well to counter heavy infantry. Although, less weapons to worry about, so it turns out in the long run. Curse my quick judgement... <.< >.> i'll just have to go slaughter some loyalist scum to make me feel better.... and corrupt some minds..... and... do whatever it is I do best Oo
yah i got pretty pissed when i saw that the SM only have the preditor anhinator which totaly takes the use off the anti-infantry part of it. But i don't complian because the SM have terminators and drednaughts. but 1 question, what's with the ultra warp in the tech tree for the elder. first (to get the avatar) you need some random upgrade (which takes a while) then you need anhilinate the enemy which takes a whole lot longer. then the avatar takes a long time to build but the WTF thing is the IG have the Baneblade which is kick-ass but it is so much easier to get (just have to upgrade to tier 3) now i know the eldar have no tiers but still 3 upgrades to get the avatar (but screw the eldar, SM and Chaos forever!)

First of all what are you smoking? Imp guard have to go to tier 3, followed by full scale war,then another building,then you get a baneblade.
@ number The upgraded chaos predator is very good The avatar gives you +10 pop on everything vs a bugged big ass tank thats taken out by 2 lemmen russes. But it looks cool

nope, at "IAmAMoron".
it's hard to get used to the new way, i got lots of trouble getting my Marines fight fine now, i've switched to IG (was waiting sooooo long for them) and, well: 1) they need to reach Tier 2 (400 req/300 power) 2) they need to research "total war" upgrade (400 req/300 power) 3) they need to build the baneblade building (200 req/50 power ?) 4) they need to build the baneblade itself (400 req/300 power again). That costs alot, and in the meantime don't forget that they also need the "total war" upgrade + small building upgrade to produce Leman Russes. But once they're all out (5 LR + Baneblade), ouch. Like, in fact, all other "big end" units.
3 leman russes can take a babeblade.
