Ok here's my problem....My game is crashing to Desktop and is also freezing up sometimes...I have an ATI 9800pro 128mb 256bit graphics card...Not sure what the problem is...My guess has to be the graphics card so I'm gonna try my old Gforce 4200ti 128 to prove my case...Hopefully some sort of patch comes out soon for the ATI people that are having trouble!:uhoh:

I know that people have tried some luck using 3.8 drivers and other earlier ones

Yeah crash to desktop etc is usually overhearing since BF uses a lot of system resources

What I did at first was take my side cover off the case to get more airflow happening...tested it then whalla... no more freeze up's!Of course i ran every friggn test out there, deleted, reinstalled, the whole nine yards before i figured it was overheating...I also had a few instances where the game ran good then I'd quit the game come back and the crashing began....I havn't had any problems since...Have you crashed on any other games besides BFV?

Nope, i've also recently noted that I can get BFV working for about 2 hours straight if I shut down my computer for a minute and then start it up again. Reboot won't do this but a shutdown will.... odd huh, don't think its heat since it would need more than a minute to cool down and take less than 2 hours to heat back up. If my comp has been running for like 2 hours prior to playing tho it will dependebly freeze around 5 min into a game, then I can fix the issue by shutting down and starting up again... odd.

how about uninstalling it? Have you tried that?It is really odd that only a shutdown would make it run fine...Maybe try testing the memory..

mine plays for about 5 mins despite the computer running for 5 mins or 5 hours. I took the cover off and put the unit in my window sil with the window wide open on a cold night with the gfx card facing ******ds , i felt it and it was at a nice cool temp and still the same problem so i dont think its overheating. Here is my spec

GFX: Radeon 9800xt ATI (just like everyone else with this problem) Proc: AMD athalon 3000+ MEM: 1 gig of kingston gamin mem [I]Its all in a shuttle configuration (the really compact systems) Its really getting annoying this stupid crash to desktop thing. I tried every driver under the sun they all have the same outcome. I am pretty blond when it comes to computers so if anyone knows of any settings or anything i should change/disable/enable please let me know (at the moment im usin default).

Do you think this problem is due to my set up or an error that can be fixed with a patch
