A friend of mine has the exact same problem and funnily enough he has exactly the same card as you so it looks as though you cant get these features with them.

My understanding is that low end cards like the geforce 4 mx series, do not even support some advanced direct x8.1 features - never mind direct x9 features. BFV requires these routines for it higher graphic settings. You'll also need the latest Nvidia drivers.

Looks like the time has come to upgrade........

P.S. Don't bother with FX5200 cards as an upgrade from geforce 4 cards, you will be disappointed.

- that which doesn't kill me, only makes me older......

I'm thinking it's because the MX cards don't have the Advanced T&L ( Texture & Lighting ) features of the higher end cards. I'm running it on a GF4 Ti4200 8x 128meg on this machine & a GF3 Ti500 4x 64meg on another and they both run the game ok. With the GF3 I have to run it at 800x600 16bit so I can crank up the detail more, but on the Ti4200 I run it at 1024x768 32bit - in game settings are High, Medium, High and I'm pulling 70-80fps or so. So yea a newer video card could be in order. :uhm:
