i just BF V today, and started installing it, it freezes at 81% and this is the message i get:

"Specified component cannot be found in the media. An attempt was made to access a component that does not exist in the named media." this happens when cd 2 is in the drive and it's copying the file Lang_Vei.rfa does this mean my cd is corrupted? i really want to play this game, i've been waiting a long time and this really pi$$e$ me off.. i've tried all the installation troubleshooting, nothing's helped, like disabling anti-virus and virtual cd drive etc.. will i have to return the game and get a new copy or what?? plz help!!

This is a long shot but it has worked in the past for me, especially with COD. Uninstall your BFV ( remove the folder too ). If you are using Windows XP pro, go to the device manager and then open the ide/ata controller tab. You are probably using your cdrom/cdrw in the ide secondary channel so go to the tab for the IDE secondary channel. If your CDROM/CDRW is set to DMA ( DMA, UDMA, multi-word DMA etc. ) de-select it and select PIO mode for your CDROM/CDRW channel. Now, reboot. I dont know why but, my cdrom which is a newer one, wouldn't install the game properly or run properly until I changed the channel that hosts the CD/CDRW to PIO. PIO isnt that much slower than DMA and if it gets your game to work who cares right? Its easy to reset it back to whatever you had it at. Also, do you have SP1 ( assuming that you are running WIN-XP-PRO ) ? Current software releases I have noticed require SP1 if you are running XP. The easiest way I think, if you bought your game from a good retailer, exchange it! If they are cool ( Electronics Boutique ) the will do a straight across trade no questions asked. Just bring the reciept
