shinyroryi have overclocked the graphics card s0o that might be it but it works great online with the detail set to high
How many FPS are you getting with everything on high? FPS at idle? FPS in action?
I have 9800 PRO and I get some lag with details on high. If I jerk mouse left to right it also lags. Maybea future patch might fix this.

I could see his setup as working ok, but he has to get some lag on details for sure. Tweaking the card out helps, and 384 of RAM on an OS aside from XP would probably be like running 512 of RAM on XP. It kinda balances out on some systems, that's why the requirements are kinda vague on most games. I'm gonna hold off on the RAM until after I get the game Thursday. I know an extra 128 of RAM would help and not hurt (I have 384 also), but it might not be worth the extra $120. I'm running ME and 512mb is the max my motherboard can hold according to Dell. That RDRAM sucks ass price wise :moon:
it lags little bit. but not to much.
Beef Flaps... That is the same problem I experience... Does it slow down when you try moving your mouse when your looking right at a vehicle up close?
only when the settings are on high. I notice it most flying. With settings on MED and EAX turned OFF, it is a little better .
After talking to a comp tech for a half hour today I decided to put in the Win XP and add 512 of RAM. My CPU/board/and vid card are kosher. It's just that I was running that damn Windows ME. My system gives me more room for expansion than I thought, and even they said it would be stupid to consider a new system in a year or so. I could do a few things here and there and have it ready to run just about anything still for another 2 years or so. I'll now have a P4 1.7G, GeForce FX 5600 256mb, and 768mb of RAM. That should give me optimum performance.....or damn near close to optimum :p Damn overnight Fed-Ex, they take too long :nodding:

More towards close ;)
You wiseguy :fistpunch: Just kidding ;) No really though, I'm not much of a computer guy. I've been playing FPS since Doom 1 came out, but I couldn't really tell you much about the how and why with these things. I'm learning as I need to I guess. I can play the games with a nice kill to killed percentage, but I couldn't change a Hard Drive if you asked me to...LOL I was happy to hear that my puter can fare well for at least another year with what I've done. I was talking the 128mb RAM increase earlier, but that wouldn't give me much of a gain.....if anything. Adding an extra 384 more than I have now should bolster it up quite a bit. I basically spent twice as much as I was going to for an extra 128 of RAM (from a local PC store), and for that money I'm gonna get an extra 384 plus the full XP OS (which I ordered and had overnighted from an online site). That was a better option IMO. Leaving Windows ME on this thing would make it a lag generator in a year or less.....with no room for growth. Now I at least have more flexibility to add more RAM, Vid Card, CPU, etc.....that is once I pay my wedding and pick up that Colt .45ACP I've been sizing up.....hehehe My CPU is three years old, but it's still a Pentium 4 ;) That 1.7 can hold it's own still with just about anything being sold now (minus a higher running P4). Or so I'm told. I'll be happy to get nice streamlined graphics with medium settings. BF42 and DC haven't been a problem so far, but I know this "BF Nam" is a real monster. I can't wait til Thurday evening :nodding:
you sure you waent that geforce 5900? They cause a lot of problems with DX. 9 games.
