Being that we now know all the classes coming in Diablo 3, being Wizard, Witch Doctor, Barbarian, Monk, and the Demon Hunter, which one do you think you'll be first?

I'll be really unoriginal here and say Demon Hunter. Probably get it to about the equivalent of Act 2, and depending on how trading and transferring items is going to work, roll a Wizard and start my MFing endeavor. That is, assuming MFing isn't killed in Diablo 3. I haven't really heard (rather, I don't remember) anything about it being mentioned other than everyone has their own drops.

I got to try the beta now and got a good look at all available classes. The monk and barbarian don't look too bad.

Witch Doctor all the way. The Necro was my way to play in D2. But since they're getting rid of runes as we know it, I'm kind of turned off by that. We don't know if MF-ing will exist in D3 at all, considering that Mephisto's soulstone was destroyed in mid-Act 4 of D2, so it's kind of a moot point of MF-ing. Since Blizzard's gameplay ideology has changed drastically since D2 (they're more for ease of use/pure awesome over careful balancing, more for "realism" over grunge, etc) I really can't make any judgements yet as to whether I'll do any drop runs yet.

I like most of the changes from D2. The new rune system allows customization without cluttering of the inventory, it also adds to the skill system which would be rather bland without it.

As for MF-ing, the latest news seems to be that magic find will be averaged over a group. That should remove exploits where one guy has nothing but MF-gear and leeches off a DPS group. Not sure what the connection between MF and Mephisto is.

As for balance - it seems that they put a lot of work into balancing D3. More than went into the release version of D2 anyway. But in games like that there will always be a combination of skills and equipment which is superior. All they can do is change with patches which combination that ends up being.

Judging by the current status of the beta the wizard is overpowered - as it always is in Blizzard games - but the gap to other classes isn't so big.

I was thinking Wizard. But, not sure yet. I am going to wait until the game gets closer to release. They are still changing the skills and what not right now.
