well well arent you just the bragging type. Your system just wont cut it , I suggest you upgrade to a Dual athlon2600 mp supercooled Geforce 4 ti4600 1 gig of ram cable connection

and where the hell did you find Ut2k3 for 9$ (if its ebay)

if you really are here to find out if it will run well then you have nothing to fear , and if you want info on games go to www.ign.com they have the BEST reviews on the web , as far as I know

This game is highly reccommended BUT IF YOU WAIT A FEW MONTHS YOU CAN GET UT004.

Holy hell that's a nice PC! Yup UT2003's still quite popular and there's a range of free downloadable bonus packs & goodies that you can get online if you've got the game. However UT2004's coming out at the end of October (basically the same content as UT2003 plus some new gametypes, maps etc) so you might want to wait until then. The only other game available that's going to make full use of a system like that is Unreal 2, but there's no multiplayer in that so it's only worth getting if you can buy it ultra-cheaply.

Ah.. looks like USELESS beat me to it. :P

sorry. I shouldn't have been so sarcastic. But you have to see it from my point of view. Your system stats are FAR above the minimum stats of the game , which are being quoted Directly from the games box

P3 or AMD athlon 733mhz 128mb of ram 16mb TNT2-class ,or other directx compatible video card video card 33.6bps or faster modem.

And here are the reccomended stats Pentium or AMD 1.0ghz or greater 256mb of ram or greater Nvidia geforce2 or ATI radeon

Now when you compare those to the stats you posted , you'll notice that yours are much higher than necessary (which is good) and I just thought it seemed out of place , that someone with that caliber of pc would think that there was a game out there that they couldn't run. (TRUST ME , for the moment , THERE ISN'T) and , I just happened to assume that you were being sarcastic , and thought you were bragging . In my opinion , with a rig like that you should be.

anyway , I didn't mean to offend you in any way , I don't want to get on the bad side of anyone here , and am only here to make friends(and the occasional point).

and I really suggest you check out that website I mentioned , www.ign.com , they have the best game reviews on the web (as far as I know.) and , If your looking to buy a new game , you should definately check out what they say is good. You wont be sorry.

oh , and I am still curious . Where The Hell Can you Buy Ut2k3 for 9$???

Nice computer you got there dude. You should be able to run UT2003/2004 at the highest visual settings. I have an AMD Athlon XP 1.6 Ghz and Geforce2-integrated (stupid Compaq), and I can run UT2003 at the default settings just wonderfully. I do think you should wait around for a few months and buy UT2004.

I'm running the following:

AMD AthlonXP 1.3Ghz 512MB PC3200 DDR GeForce4 Ti 4200se (128MB)

And my game runs like crap... No matter what it's set at, even 640x480 with all the details off, and the visual effects set to lowest... No one has been able to give me a straight answer as to the cause to the problem.

And please don't ask me to get all the latest drivers for my hardware, been there, done that.

The only possible solution I can conceive of is my BIOS settings, which could have been altered recently. And I'd need someone to give me an idea as to what to set it up like. Most of it I understand, some of the other things I'd need a better idea of what I'm doing...

Have you tried tinkering with your advanced settings (typing Preferences in the console)? There's some tweaks you can make in there that you can't make in the main game menu, playing with some of the Display or Rendering options might help your framerate.

Oh and my next comp (in a month or two)... 3.06ghz. 1gb DRR. 200gb HD. GeForce FX 5800. SB Audigy 2 6.1 (maybe Platinum).

Heu VSK_AgentSmith, have you checked to see that antialiasing and anostropic(sp?) filtering are off? That could be your problem.
