Thanks for your ..erm...highly animated compliments :)

It is just the two of us at the mo. Taking more people on is a definate possibility but if this happens we'll be looking for good people as we don't want to spend time teaching people how to do things!

Hi Sniperumm,

Have you done any C coding before ? Have you done any programming (Basic, Java, ect) before ?

Before starting this project I had never written a program in C before (RTCW is written in C not C++) although I had a fair bit of experiance in other languages.

I decided, as you have, to have a look to see if i could do anything with the RTCW source.. My thanks to RhiNo at RhiNoflaTTTiNdUsTries.net as he had a tutorial about how to setup MSVS6 to compile the code. Unfortunatly his web-site is down for a referb at the mo, but he says he will be back.. he had lots of different tut's for peeps to try, although, I cannot comment on these cos I never tried them.

Since doing my first sucessful 'pure' compile I've not looked back, and that was only 6 months ago :) and now i've written a mod !

So I need to know what programming experiance you have to start you off in the correct direction

Cheers

Hewster

Sorry sniperman, been pretty busy you know :)

ok, what do you need to know ?

I use MSVisual studio6 for compiling,

what c compiler do you use, I recommend MSVS6..

I need to know how far you have got? have you setup a workspace ect, have you done a sucessful compile of the pure 1.33 code ?

I need to know where you are, once we have got you to the position where you can sucessfully compile the unchanged code, I can give you some pointers.. remember though I'm still new to all this myself :)
