I never realized that as a soldier you could have a henry, Dual Colts AND a Volley Rifle at the same time! That's pretty awesome. Of course you have to find someone who will drop a volley rifle for you but heck, in my next map... I'm putting in a gun store!:type:

A gun store would make sense - we have spawning health in battlecreek now, how about spawning ammo?
And is there any chance you could make the ammo in seperate packs? As in, you go in to get Henry ammo but you don't take the last of the gatling ammo for your buddy behind you...
I'm not sure the entities exist in our entities.def to make a gun store, but I doubt it's impossible. :) Cool idea. Actually, I found it annoying that I pick up dual colts. I use my mouse wheel to switch weapons, and I end up switching to them instead of my volley. And they're usually low on ammo. lol
They do. At least they are in the one that Hewster sent to me and I cleaned up for use in QuArK. I expect it is the same one used in the map pak. I created a map for getting screen shots of the weapons. I always used it in spectator mode. I just went in to it as a soldier and I could pick up anything that I wanted. They then respawned themselves in a few seconds (5?). Anyway, it works quite well!
A gun store would be quite nice. You could make ammo spawn every now and then. And every gun can spawn there too so when you want to trade weapons you can.

That's the thing though... The classes can only pick certain weapons up. However if they are allowed to pick up a "alternate" weapon they will no matter what they were carrying before. Since a soldier can carry all the alternate weapons, you can have one of each. That might lead to mayhem. Not that mayhem isn't fun sometimes! yes, My friend made in his Zelda map a weapons room and when you play shrub mod any class can pick up any weapon (medic w/ venom is quite nasty) I'd probably make only one of each weapon with a longer lag time to respawn (wouldn't want folks to max out in a quicky pass) and the same with ammo. Maybe have the weapon thats available rotate i.e. gatling, musket, dual colts, volley, henery, colt so that you never know what weapon you'll find 'lieing around'. This could also be for pistols stashed under the pillow, volley behind the bar, ya get my drift. For a death match game that would be rather nice to have random stuff scattered at random times through out the map (moltov's on the bar?) ya got me going now...
Not sure you could make the weapon type random. But Queeg, keep in mind of the entity limit of around 600. I imagine you're just playing around at the moment, but the room from the Matrix evokes an image of 1000's of them :) lol
well psudo random gringo, you've got 32 lines of code so you could make it 'apear' random.
