We are running this mod since a couple of days. Everything runs smooth, except that it occasionly crash or shutdown the game. We are not sure if its the mod by itself, or if it has to do with rtwc engine and mods support. The problem occurs when we have 14 players or more and the rotation script switchs the map. The server by itself shutdown without any warning. The parent process still there, still consuming ressources, but the server is no more "fonctionnal".
We are running this mod on a Linux server. The log state:
Shutdown Game ============= .. thats it.
When the server changes maps and goes fine, we have this print, and right after it, the wildwest mod is reloaded sucessfully, than configuration etc...
If the server has 13 people or less, this never happen. We have set the hunkMegs to 96 . The server is a dual p733 Mhz, 256 megs. There are still some memory left when the process hang.
We also had made a custom rotation config. We've already checked it since this could be the problem, but everything looks fine, and the problem appears quit randomly.
Does any of you already got this problem? Sorry for the post if its not WildWest related. We do not want to make this mod suffers from innacurate posts.
Ok, now the weapon bug. When you switch weapon and press immediatly the fire button, the state of weapon goes "in-middle" switch for ever, until you release the firebutton. This is anoying, specially when you want to prime a grenade fast but are stuck with the middle animation.

I've noticed you are running wolf 1.4, could you try updating to 1.41, if the problem persits still, then let me know, and I'll try and locate the problem.

About the switch weapong bug, it happen when you have position 3 weapon (the henry ?), then you switch to grenade and press fire during the switch animation. Its easy to reproduce.
A more difficult one was during i was trying to explicitly detect a bug :). I cant reproduce it though. What happen occured while switching weapon 3 to grenade, then pressing 2 to get the weapon 2, reload this weapon, drop the weapon 3 then immediatly swtich weapon... and ive got no more weapon ! Im not sure about the sequence since i cant reproduce it. You may discard this one since i cant figure how i did it.
I will post further information when ive installed 1.41 and if the server shutdown problem occurs again.

Ok, we have updated to wolf-1.4.1 for linux. I still got the shutdown bug, but now i have some more interesting information.
Did i told you that the game crashed on hacienda? It crashed when switching hacienda back to town, or in the middle of (a-b-b-a) round switch, at the score menu. Well this morning the server was down and i've got this interesting tail output.

Ok, it looks like it may be a problem with the hacienda map.. I'll pass the info onto BoltyBoy, maybe it can be fixed in the maps script. Maybe we could take hacienda out of rotation and see if the problem definatly goes away ?
btw, Love your server. I'm in UK and ping 120-130, nice group of chaps playing on there, had a few fun games last night :)

Ok, I now have first hand experiance of this problem, which is good :)
This is what happened....
Playing Hacienda SW.. about 10 players on the LoneWolf server I was on bandits, under a sudoname (I feel very self concious when playing as Hewster !)
A Miner planted TNT outside the Govners office wall (a bug that kills the govner without blowing the door first), now the bit I'm not sure about.. there was also TNT planted at the door, I believe it was planted after the one at the wall. So the Govner died when the first TNT exploded, but then the second TNT blew before the map change, and triggered the Govner to kick into action, but since he was already dead, (did not exist any more) causes Wolfy to crash.
I suggest until we make our next patch avalible, that server admins remove hacienda from the rotation, and maybe turn off voting... I am writting new server configs, and map rotations now, and will make a post when done.
