Ill be short and sweet. While playing the game i noticed gore is pretty crap for the "oh so mighty and disturbing Doom3" but maybe its my settings? im not sure so maybe you guys can help me out.... (1) Whats Anti aliasing? What should it be at? (2x, 4x, 8x, 16x)? (2) Are there gore settings or child lock or somthing i dont know about? Cos i JUSSSST happened to notice the LACK OF F**KING SEVERED LIMBS FLYING ACROSS THE ROOM, not to mention guts spilling on the floor.... where is it? (3) Lastly, what verticle sync? Cheers guys, i hope the game rocks for you guys, dont get me wrong, it still rules, but i got too hyped up and now im disapointed and overrated it...

Antialiasing reduces the jagged edges that apear on most edges. These edges get worse at lower resolutioins. 2x AA is really all you need for any game and in doom3 you dont even need that. The jaggeds just really dont matter all that much. Possibilites for this may be that AA is already slightly incorparated into the game. However, from personal experience, you just dont really notice the jaggeds at close range. And DOOM3 is so dark and tighly packed that it just duznt matter.

If you have a badass system you will notice that every now and then the screen ripples. This is because your monitor is at one refresh rate [example: 60] and your game is running at another, most likely higher one [example: 80] Because of htis difference you get screen ripples. VSync basically just fixes that. No more ripples. On older game it seems to slightly lower performance. Im not sure if this is still true.

As for the gore, sorry dude. It just sucks. I wish I could sue ID for all the freaking false advertising they put out. Its just panzeish for a game about demons from hell taking over. I mean come on, there arent even freaking blood pools! WHAT IS THAT!?!?! EVERY GAME HAS BLOOD POOLS!!!!! THE EARLY RAINBOW6 GAMES HAD BLOOD POOLS!!!

Aliasing is jagged edges on things, like u see on shadows and objects. AA stops these jagged edges but at fps cost so if u dont have a powerful g card leave it off.

Ok, its not all about the gore u know. If u want that get sof2 but i guess u have it allready.

V sync capps ur fps at ur monitors refresh rate to stop the fps bombing too much and causing too much visual terring.

it has blood marks on the walls. There is no shooting off arms and stuff. There are no blood pools. There really arent 'holes' inb bodies that you shot... just red stains. Overall its very depressing. Still a great game

when you get the pistol right at the start of the game try blasting a few of the scientists or workers. oh look... they totally disentegrate. now i haven't shot a zombie or a human in real life but i know humans don't instantly disentegrate in the space of 2 seconds if shot.

also, why is it that all the skeletons disentegrate when you shoot them but you see loads of skeletons lying around that you can't shoot away. mmmmph, consistancy would be nice even if they choose the wrong option.

finally, the reactions when you shoot things just plain suck. blood doesn't appear on the demons where you shoot them, they just get generally overall more bloody the more damage they take.

There are no blood pools. That is annoying. Btw dude, there is per pixel damage... you shoot one in the head and blood apears there. It just generally just a red stain.
