glory77You are correct. People want to see the physical damage and I think the Doom 3 engine does that. I read where you see the damage done to the demons from the effects of the different weapons and I am intrigued. I"ve been playing Painkiller lately and I like the Havok engine they used. But I'm sure the D3 engine will make that look like small potatoes.

Yeah, I Id Software said that some of the walls and such will be able to be destroyed, but not all of it. Too much of that and it will end up kind of like Red Faction II...

The stakegun. Really cool when you hit a monster with it. You can actually 'nail' somebody to a wall.
The game engine is based on dark games like doom.
That means nothing. Its all about the textures you use, you use dark textures you get a dark game. The engine is fully flexible and allows other companies to add to it, thats just how engines work, and thats what exciting. The next 5 years in gaming should be interesting.
