Well, a friend and I swapped games for two weeks. I gave him Far Cry while I get Doom 3. Thought a demo would be better than buying the game due to my hardware not meeting the system requirements. Windows 2000 Pro. 1.2 Ghz AMD Athlon (Not overclocked) 512 RAM 128 MB GeForce 4 FX5200 As you can see most people would complain with a computer like that, but Doom 3 runs smoothly at medium settings with an average FPS of 25. However, while fooling around with some spawning, I noticed that going into noclip mode greatly increases performance. While some people will say that is being a lame "noobie", I think if your FPS is suffering too much or you simply want to try ultra high settings, using that cheat in the really demanding areas will greatly help. Please don't flame me here, if you want to do it, go over to the melee or yell at me in a private message, this is not the forum for it.

Oh, and those screenshots are with bump mapping disabled. Turning it off didn't really increase the performance in the game so I turned it back on, and the game is simply beautiful. In America's Army what is your average FPS? Generally I am quite comfortable and have no problems what so ever with 10 fps. One last screenshot from me in this thread. I was simply amazed you could see yourself see yourself see yourself... attachment.php?attachmentid=11757&stc=1

every thing on low edit: except lighting, thats on medium/edit playerside effects on. 15-20 sometimes dips below 10.

My frame rate is erratic, it goes back and fourth between 60+ fps and 15 fps @ medium quality 1024x768 with all effects on high.

It all depends on what your syster is made of and how it's configured.

God, that has certainly got to be the LOWEST settings I have ever seen Doom 3 played on. At that point I would say that the only excuse that I would have for playing it would be the dynamic lighting. :vikki:

i play doom3 on a AMD athlon XP 2400+ 2.0ghz with an MX440 128mb and 768ddr ram on ultra 800x600 with shadows and some times specs. off and i get good fps for the card i got so try that. This game looks good in lower settings with specs. on and put it in 1024x768... or put it on ultra and in window and make the window really small like 256x256 and get 60-69 straight

****EDIT***** u might not wanna try ultra with olny 512 ram cuse it uses 500mb when useing it but i dont know if it will crash or not.....

Bump mapping isn't a resource hungry feature :nodding:
