if only doom3 was as hard and long as farcry was.. though doom3 graphics were about the same maybe better.. i feel doom might have been rushed, could have been better gameplaywise... maybe more levels... farcry is long and challenging which i like to see in a game with such tremendous graphics..what do you say>

Doom 3 is much much better graphics wise, unless you are running low/medium settings with 640x - 800x600... And for the Gameplay, i think Doom 3 was more fun since i love scary games, the acting on the characters and the audio was simply amazing!

And Far Cry's gameplay was fun too, but i got tired of it after i completed the game twice. Graphics on FarCry was the best when it came out, the environment was just amazing, but if you go indoors and compare it to the detail of Doom 3, take a few screenshots of both games on full graphics and set them side by side, youll see the difference..

But still, i think both games are very great and far cry deserves just as much attaention as doom 3 got. but i voted Doom 3 simply because its the best game out yet. We will see in a year or so when theyve pushed the limits of the Doom 3 engine, i think we wil see alot more (graphics wise). Then when the graphics has built up to "the max", when they are so great we cant do much more of it, thats when the great games will start coming. Then they will think more about the gameplay. length, sound and mood of the game, and lots of those things that could have been better in all games. And i think games will be alot bigger and you will in the end have so much oppurtunities there that you can do almost whatever you want. Like an fps game in a whole city, you can do whatever the heck you want, live a life on a computer game. Would be sweet :p

I prefer Farcry, though DooM3 has a slightly higher tension in the air.

BUT Farcry also has this, when your walking through dense jungle, and its all....too...quiet....

more games that want to be better than doom3 will take longer to develop since they will have to get every single detail in the entire game to as real life as possible.. in areas of doom3.. ie computers and electronics look out of focus and they didnt really focus on the littlest parts and textures in the game

Farcry was fun for a bit but the gameplay was boring, doom 3 is way better

Both games are great, but Iliked Far Cry more in the end. It was longer and the graphics were just as good playing on the highest settings, plus the outdoor rendering was simply killer and the water effects were amazing. Far Cry had great sound effects too, and the immersion I felt when walking allong a beautiful tropical beach really made me feel like I was there, and I could almost smell the ocean!

Doom was great too and really made me feel quite uncomfortable at times...really spooky! It was really easy to finish though (compared to Far Cry) and quite a bit shorter. Playing through a second time takes only minutes to get through each level, whereas Far Cry will still take you a while to complete. But, trauly happy with the game still. If you don't have Far Cry yet, by all means get it and play it, you won't be dissapointed!
