I have heard and personally experienced the ID FPS limiter. This puts a cap on Doom3 at 60 FPS. Does anybody know how to workaround this? Im sure that my system could put out another 30FPS, why would they do this?

I don't know the real reason why they put a cap on the FPS. But, if they tied the player input to the frame that is being displayed then it would balance out players who use speed cheats. I figure that the restriction is deeply embedded and nothing short from writing a new renderer and linking it to the fragments of remaining Doom3 engine would be too difficult for hackers. I'm sure also that PunkBuster will be configured to detect the FPS and boot anyone cheating in that way when the time comes for a cheat to appear (heck, what am I saying...there's probably hordes of ppl working on cheats already).

Type "com_fixedtic -1" in the console. Better type "com_fixedtic 1" (or 2) when you'll play multiplayer, otherwise, you'll be considered like a cheater. Remember it.

I was actually thinking about SP. I have sooo many games on the go right now and I havent even tried MP for D3 yet! I only play BF1942 DC/DCX multiplayer. I usually finish the SP mode of a game and then move to MP.

There are a few utils out there that automatically remove the frame cap that Id set in the OOBE for Doom3. The utils that I have found are Doom3 Tweaker and Doom3Config (which I highly recommend as it briefly explains each setting that you are changing and what the command is)
