here were my previous sys specs:
Athlon 1.4gig 512 PC150 Ram Soundblaster Live (crappy on perf) Western Digital 80gig
Well I built a whole new computer just to play this game and Half Life 2 how do you think she'll run now:
Soyo KT600 Dragon Motherboard A ATX w/ onboard 6 channel audio Athlon XP 3200 400MHz FSB, 512K Cache Kingston PC3200 512mb DDR 200gig western digital 150 ATI Radeon 9500 Pro 128mb running at AGP 8x, DirectX 9 Windows XP Serivce Pack 2 VIA 4 in 1 drivers
Hopefully Im well above the avg requirements, let me know what yall think it will run like on Doom and HL2.
I think the Radeon 9500 won't help much. Should have gotten a smaller HD in exchange for a better GPU.
Already had the Video card and got the HD for a very good deal. The Video card will probally be upgraded but I think it will do the job for now dont you think? It supports DX9 and runs at AGP8x and 128mb isnt bad.
Sure thing, but...meh, I dunno...I'm no good at this hardware stuff.
I'd suggest a Raedon X800, newer card pretty good. Go here to see an article on it. 512 MB of RAM is good, and will carry you through games as long as you have a good video card. I'd get a Gig if possible. I'm not too good with this technical stuff either though. I've just gotten into it recently as I'm customizing my own new computer.
I need some money. Then I'll build my own PC with a customized look. :)

Overall Zep, I would judge that you've put together a very powerful machine for Doom 3, although your graphics card seems somewhat out of date in comparison to the rest of your components. An Athlon XP 3200 is nearly top of the line for not being 64-bit, and a motherboard with onboard 6-channel audio cannot be argued with (I myself would always buy a sound card, as I am picky in that respect).
And of course, as I always say, 512 mb of RAM is legitimate, but I would not set that as a permanent amout; it is best, especially for a gamer such as yourself, to be running at least 1Gb of memory. Lastly, I would take Ghost's suggestion. ;)
Thanks for the info but before I shell out a couple hundred for a new vid card ill get another stick of memory. Im not trying to max the game out and get 70+fps I just want to play it above avg with good fps.

It will indeed yield decent results as is, but do upgrade your memory nevertheless. You can still wait to pruchase a new video card. And you're quite welcome.
