I bought the game today and i have an:

Asus P4S533-E Motherboard Intel Pentium 4 2.4B GHz 1 GB DDR PC2700 Ram Nvidia GeForce 4 Ti4400 120 GB 7200 RPM Western Digital Caviar Hard Drive 40 GB 7200 RPM Maxtor Diamond Max Hard Drive Creative Labs Sound Blaster Live 5.1 Sound Card Acer 16X DVD-Rom HP CD-Writer Plus 8200 Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition

I run the graphics as high as they can go and get about 42 fps. Except for the random crashes that a lot of people seem to be getting, the game runs perfectly smooth and dosen't jerk at all.

jedi, use the force and head over to this thread. people have commented on how it runs. skim through the last couple pages. also, read the 'doom expiriance' thread for peoples mini-reviews that most included a 'it ran..' in.

thank you for your time! :lock:

Too bad that it is the first post, or I would have deleted it...oh well.

Well, I have tested Doom 3 on my system on a couple of different configuations, and 1024x768 with High graphical settings and 4x anti-aliasing works perfectly, with no lag of any sort (I even tested such by waving my mouse around rapidly :naughty: ). Settings the resolution to 1280x1024 works as well, but I enountered significantly lower framrates during intense firefights. However, as I said in the past, Doom 3 still look amazing at these settings, or even below. :smokin:

I have not yet measured them (and I will keep in mind to do so), but the frames on the settings recommended by Hard OCP remainled constantly smooth, and never once fell out of the range of playability of course. :smokin:

My spec:

P4c 2.6GHz(still haven't overclocked) Radeon 9800 pro 128mb 512mb DDR ram 3-3-3-8 Xp pro some other stuff

It runs fine but some places so far have be jolty, once went to a full stop for a second but seems fine in combat and 90% of the time :\

I have it on 1024x768 at medium.

How can i tell the FPS anyway?
