I don't think this has already been asked... What do you think was the hardest enemy to fight? I've only played the demo, so I can't really vote. No bosses. Sorry, I could not get all of the enemies into the poll, it didn't let me go past 10. Just vote other, and say what you pick then.

I would have to vote for the Cherub, with the Lost souls being perhaps the second most difficult. The latter can at least be eradicated while they are either hovering briefly or as they follow a straight path toward you for the attack, but the Cherubs are almost constantly, even in their most non-mobile state, moving in very awkward patterns along the ground. And when they prepare to attack, their half fly-half jump movements, along with their quick, disorienting pounces (which are much more frequent that those of the Lost souls or Imps) make them virtually impossible to hit without a lucky shot or two.

I agree whit the Cherub's too! But also the Archvile can be hard to kill sometimes

Well, under certain circumstances, I'll point out the most difficult monsters.

1. Pinky. Just let it smash you against a wall and you're dead. You can't aim if it's "glued" on you against a wall and constantly bashing you. 2. Cherub. Read Majic Mushroom's post. 3. Chain-gun Commando Zombie. Well, the hits don't disorient you so badly, but he shoots at you constantly, and if you don't have a similar weapon(Plasma Gun, machine gun or chain-gun), or a splash damage one, it's very difficult. 4. Hell Knight. Difficult if you're facing him in a small room, where you don't have the benefit of agility.

But the monster I think is the most difficult is the Arch-Vile. Spawns other enemies, and makes a barbecue out of you. Actually, I also have some fun fighting him. I let him spawn whatever monster he wants and then I fight the spawned foe. When I grow tired, I blast HIM away...which happens after 2 or 3 monsters he spawns.

All good points I suppose, each of these monsters have kind of an intro cutscene, right? And is it just me, or have the Doom 3 forums been on a gradual spiral downward since the release of the game? I've seen that a lot of other ones, even for older games, like MOHAA, are really active. But it could be just me.

Although I appreciate your concern, Ghost, I do believe that it is only in your mind (it may be slighty try to a certain extent, but nil to be concerned with). Believe me, these forums are quite active, especially with those collaborating for the purpose of modding Doom 3. :naughty: However, keep in mind that MOH interests a wider range of people; Doom 3 is not for everyone, but those who do take interest use this forum quite frequently for whatever their endevours may be.

I personally did not find the Archvile too difficult to deal with. If you concentrate minmal effort on the demons they spawn, they can be taken out relatively easily with 3 to 5 well-placed shotgun blasts at close range.

I'd say, for the demo atleast, that the Imp is the hardest to fight. Specifically when it pounces on you. That, and the fact they seem to appear anywere.
