Before Doom 3 came out ID made a bunch of promises to the gaming community and said that Doom 3 wouldn't be a "traditional" 3rd person shooter. I've played through the game at least 10 times (yes 10 times) and it still feels just like a FPS. The first time I played it I wasn't even scared, I tried to get scared, but I expected monsters to pop out because I've played so many FPS games before. So it just got reptitive, yeah the graphics are "great", but when the game is not what it's supposed to be, or what they said it would be then it's dissapointing.

Id lied about a lot though, there was no music, ammo is WAY too plentiful in every level (I didn't use any cheats and I have a ton of ammo left over when I really try), the monsters do the same thing over and over...

I actually liked the Doom movie more than the game...

You're right, it wasn't all it was supposed to be. But it was still an awesome game and saying that the movie was better is just crazy.

The only thing i don't care for in Doom3 are the early levels, as they are so boring and repetitive (did i spell that right!? lol). And also the shotgun is naff compared to the original games.

Ok, so play past the early levels or download from over a hundred sp-maps and total conversions. GREAT gameplay out there, Doom3 rocks!!

And as for the shotgun, well, there are tons of mods out there to make things better :)

But as for the movie - yep i'm a fan of this also. Loved it, though didn't like how it sorted ended with the Rock going insane 'n all that. Thought that part was crap tbh.

Fan of both in other words!! :D
