Ultimately, they havent set a concrete release date yet (tmk)...which is good...it can get fairly tedious and annoying when companies set release dates, only to miss them over and over again i.e. duke nukem forever, daikatana, team fortress 2 (r they still even making that?) etc etc. Its better that they dont set a realese date, and spend as long on it as they need 2, in order to make the game perfect and with as few a bugs as possible. I think many of us have to ask ourselves what they would prefer...a complete, well designed, polished game with great maps, graphics and style? Or, a really buggy, untweaked shell of what it should be. Yes, we all want to play it now, yes..the wait can be frustrating...but these things take time, and the best things comes to those who wait ;)

Short answer...maybe....but no one really knows...i would think so, but u may have to turn alot of effects of...
Personally, i believe its gonna even struggle on mine, which is:
Athlon XP 2.1 1 gig of ram 40 gig HD Geforce4 ti 4400 SB Live: 1024 DX9
Everyone should read my new post about Doom III being worth all the hassle. It's an extraordinary game all right, but it's too far ahead of it's time... Wait until there are P5's for us people at home! Or at least until a computer gets up to 5.0 Gighz without costing an arm and a leg!
BTW if you have to turn down ANY effects in a game, it's worth the money at all.
That's a fact jack!

I believe that doom III was built around that one. But then again, i also heard that it was being built around the gf4. I just got the radeon and, aside from a subtle little bug that kills a game after your computer has been on for a long time, it works just fine for me.
I would say that if your system can run 3dmark03 your system will run doom 3. The only problem mine had was running the cpu test with the trolls. Other than that it did ok. I've got a P4 2.53, 512mb rimm4200, radeon 9700 pro.
I agree....but, u probably only got a fair 3d mark score coz u have a card that supports directx9. Also...when i ran the alpha (naughty naughty) i got higher fps than i did on that 3dmark03....so u cant strictly use it to compare...but in essence, i totally agree with what u mean, coz if u can run 03 with np's, u will be bale to run doom3 with nps.
I think I may have said this before but as to whether or not people will be able to play this game or not. Most people with a decent system will be able to play this game. There is alot of illusionary tricks that ID is using quite craftily. They did the same thing with the original Doom, in a way. It was far surpassing everything out there but it for some reason didn't have problems running on most systems, because they didn't come up with something new they just used what was around and made the best they could out of it.
dont worry about doom 3, better worry about americas army soldiers:dance:
