Place your bets everyone! In the arena today we have the zombies from Doom 3, Resident Evil (any of them, they're pretty much all the same), and The Flood from Halo (technically zombies). Who do you think would win, and who is just the more frightening foe?

Well, I know nothing of The Flood, and I find Doom 3's zombies to be more or less the same as those from Resident Evil (in terms of behavior and level of aggression), so I cannot meaningfully comment on this.

Lol, forgot about those, I remembered them after a bit had gone by since the original posting, so it was too late. There is a little diffrence between Resident Evil and D3 zombies, RE has undead everything pretty much, I was including the dogs, Nemesis, the creepy zombie that's 7 feet tall and has a huge claw (RE Zero), etc... The Flood is a group of Xenoforms, which, a bit like the Aliens from Alien, can go into a hosts body and take them over, except in Alien, it comes out after. The infection forms attach to a host, work their way into the body, and then turn it into a Combat form. This is basically a zombie, but it can jump very high towards you, and has tentacles growing out of its arms. The only way to kill Flood is to blow them apart, otherwise new infection forms can revive the "dead" zombies. Then there is the carrier form, this carries several infection forms to an enemy, and explodes, sending them everywhere, the explosion is harmful too. It sounds more complicated then it is... Brief, but better explanation of each...

Infection Form: The Infection Form is quite small, and vulnerable to physical attack. To compensate, it is very numerous, and rather fast. It can move across the ground, or along walls, and for short distances is capable of large jumps. If it comes in contact with an energy shield, it explodes, or "pops"... but when there is no shield it will latch on to the host and embed itself in the host's chest cavity, taking over all motor functions.

Carrier Form: Within the Carrier Form the spores (Infection Form) are created/nurtured. The Carrier form come in two flavors - they're either Flood-infected Grunts (the Flood don't consider Grunts an effective combat form), or they're Warrior forms (either human or Covenant) so badly damaged they're no longer fit for battle. The reason their legs are so short is because they're missing the bottom half, in most cases - their 'feet' were once knees. In either case, their primary purpose is the same: they serve as a portable incubator for future spores. The Carrier Form is quite slow, but responds to damage by simply releasing its progeny in an explosive rush; it is capable of killing or disabling nearby beings (friend or enemy, it's indiscriminate) when it detonates. It will detonate itself if it gets close enough to an enemy target.

Covenant Combat Form: The Covenant Warrior Form is a formidable enemy; it is capable of a deadly physical attack using its tentacles (once the arms of the Covenant host), as well as having the ability to wield both human and Covenant weapons. It is very fast, very strong, and can jump great distances. Due to the Flood Controller's indifference to its host's discomfort, it is nearly immune to some weapons (notably the sniper rifle), but reliance on the host life support systems render it vulnerable to shotgun blasts. It does not have the capability of using Covenant Energy Shields, though it does, on occasion, use Active Cloaking Devices.

Human Combat Form: The Human Warrior Form is significantly smaller than the Covenant version (due to the comparative differences of the host bodies), and is both slower and weaker than its Covenant counterpart (though it has the same jumping ability). It shows a preference for human weapons, and can be deadly with a shotgun in close quarters. As with other Warrior Forms, it is capable of sustaining massive physical damage before being unusable to the Flood Controller; in fact, as long as the chest cavity and legs remain intact, it will continue to try and fight.

Your Halo lesson is done for today :D . Just consider the Headcrab zombies, all types, added to the poll.

The Flood wins it. I mean they weld guns, and Doom 3's zombies and RE's zombies are slow as snails and don't weld guns. The flood jump farther and can use vehicles to their advantage as well.

If you ever played Halo 2 then you would know this as well. Also in Halo 2 you have to litterally blow flood zombies into nothing but body parts to stop the infection forms from reviving dead flood.

I hope that clears it up Majic, so you can make a more educated vote.

Yes indeed, thanks much. :nodding:

It seems that The Flooding hold the highest chance at victory.

unless your counting the demons in Doom 3, The Flood would win.

Just a stupid question, though...since we're talking about zombies here...zombies are undead people whose only desire is to feed themselves, right? So how will the zombies in hazard suits from D3: RoE feed themselves?
