Hi peeps,

Thought I'd start a thread reguarding the test of Beta2, I want to know what you though of the changes in beta2, mainly the way you feel the changes in accuracy have changed the game-play..

For your interest I have compiled a stats page for last nights session which can be viewed here: 12th July Beta2 test stats These stats were produced by the WildWest version of WolfStat, which I converted my self :)

First look at the stats seems it has made it easier for Bandits to win If this is the case, this is good ? and to compensate we should reduce the game time on maps? discuss

I like the changes. I didn't play canyon, but in town, it was harder to get picked off from across the river. I like closer battles anyway. About the Bandits winning more, I think gametime could be reduced. I'd rather lose defending in 10 minutes, than not win offensively in 20 :) Maybe knock it down to 15 min or something. Those stats are awesome. 3 kills for every death for me! Yeee-haw.

I can't really comment as I wasn't able to stay long enough, and I'm still getting lost in the mine - I think half the time in there I was totally lost, but could hear everyone having a great fire-fight somewhere :) Then I found Hewster in one of the tunnels in a gun fight, so came to help, managed to pull out a molotov using my new bind key, and it just seemed to leave my hand instantly without giving me time to throw - result, one cooked Hewster and me :(

On the Drab Town map, it was noticeable that it was very difficult to actually kill someone from a distance. Or maybe it was my bad aim :) So this would help bring the action to close quarters - after all, if someone wants to snipe, they should only be able to do so with a scope.

Has the spurs sound changed? It seemed more realistic and not so jarring as it used to be?

howdy! the new accuracy is fine! i like the closer gunfights too. maybe the duel guns should be a little more accurate.

Well Hewster I can't knock the Henry now. I think you might have hit the nail on the head with the accuracy of the Henry. No more 3 mile sniping! There were a couple of things I found last night though. Firstly the gatlin gun. I noticed that when anyone is killed with it now it just comes up "name died". It doesn't say they were killed with a gatlin. I noticed though this wasn't an isolated problem. It also happens when the Molotov is used. You get the same message. Otherwise I can't knock anything really. Is it me or are maps lighter again? :rock:

Hey Invader according to the stats your a psycho killer! I'm not far behind with a close second. Think I must stop watching those Rambo movies, they aint doing me much good.

Yep, I've isolated why.. it because I haven't given out the client side changes yet, and so your game doesn't know about the new weapon codes I have introduced :) this only effects what your game writes on your screen, the server knows what is happening :)

And yes.. Inavders death / kill ratio (and yours) is somewhat impressive !!

I think for the moment the map times would be better to stay as they are for the time being. There were quite a few times when the objective was finished right at the very last second. You have to think about team strengths. There's been many a time i've come across a team that's been weak with only one or two strong players. Thats when the problems start to arise. I think making the times less might not go down too well with novice players, especially when their entire team maybe made up of noobs. Tends to make things one sided don't you think? :rock:
