Oddly we haven't had many, if any threads on this great mod. For those that don't know, Classic Doom 3 is taking the old Chapter 1 of Doom, Knee Deep in the Dead, and remaking it for Doom 3. I've played it, and it's great so far, the levels are well made, and the music is great. I think we've actually got a few people from their team here at GF. Nice work!

Is it true that the other 2 chapters are not going to be created, so the project is done at E1M9?

Yes, we've said this quite a few times actually.

Sounds like a good topic for discussion to me. :) We're only remaking the first episode, but anyone out there willing enough is totally welcome to make more episodes. If they're good enough quality, Flaming Sheep Software will put a "seal of approval" on it and release it as an official pack. It remains to be seen if the pack will need music like what I've made to get the stamp of approval, but I'd like to see that. To me, it's not Doom without the music. Just making the levels isn't enough in my eyes. But someone remaking maps, and someone remaking music wouldn't need to work together. If someone out there wants to remake a song from the second episode and send it to us, it could end up in a pack. But when I say remake music, I don't mean just putting the old midi through new synths, I'll throw that out as soon as I receive it. :D I'm not doing it that way, so anyone else out there who wants to get some recognition for hard work will have to do it right, with real instruments.

Yeah, you've made great music for the levels, it helps it really feel like to the old Doom, but reborn. :p I also like the parts that have been re-done completly, like the area with the imps and monsters in the stasis tubes near the end of one of the levels. The aquiring of the chainsaw was nicely done too.

Yeah that chainsaw section was VERY well done. That was a little of Kaz coming into his own. That whole "maze" secret section is just incredibly thick with atmosphere. It's E1M2 by the way.

I've still to play the Military Base yet, actually. Even after playing Doom many times, it's still hard for me to find that secret exit. :p I like how close the maps are to the original, I can get around almost perfectly while remembering the lay-out of the old Doom levels.

Oh man, you have to find the secret exit! E1M9 is AWESOME. Gazz threw it together in record time for this release and he did a really good job bringing it together. Plus in this release that level plays the theme song, which may be the only time anyone will ever hear that one all the way through. :) Unless they watch the teaser trailer of course.
