hmm heres a good idea for a mod.. u spawn in a huuuuge battlefield like level with borken houses and shops and cars and turret guns, and sniping spots, and other stufff.. the zombies spawn on the other side of the map u spawned and u can spawn a friend marine by pressing a button.. in all u can spawn 30 marines.. u can spawn them anywhere u want and theyl spawn close to u, and they all follow u around... and the zombies just walk around looking for u.. and u have to be able to defeat the zombies with ur squad :cya: that would be extreme lag tho

That is a very interesting and fun sounding idea. But you are right, the lag would be horible.

I can go into a small, HIGH fps test map. And spawn 15 low quality zombies and my fps will just die.

I think... there would need to be custom models, lower poly models (that still look nice).. to balance it out. I'm certain mid range machines could handle outdoor doom III environments if the map was built, and optimized to top efficiency.

But as i said.. in order for this scenario to work. The mod would have to include custom game models that are considerably lower in quality. (which still wouldn't be that bad)

well ok the maker of this would need to make a map like in call of duty, or battlefield... then he needs to make marines.. doesnt have to look anything like the doom 3 marines.. just futuristic low poly ugly bad looking marines.. then he needs to make some bad zombies with bad textures.. lots of different ones.. give guns to soem of them.. then new guns liek ak 47, m14, m16, and other traditional weapons.. and there u go.. although that would take ages.. but it would be fun... the map cant be to good either or it will lag.. aroudn the level of ut2004 would be ok...

It doesn't need to be "bad" at all.

It can be lower than the lowest settings and still be considered "nice" looking.

And i don't think a map Ut2004 or battlefield 1942 size would work. I'm not sure it would be possible to handle even if it was optimized.

if you spawn a marine and a zombie they dont attack each other they just stand there unless you change the scripts and AI .

are the zombies gonna be former marines with guns or juss weaponless ghouls? i dont think it will be so exciting after a few rounds. maybe if its a multiplayer map with people playing as both marines and armed and unarmed zombies. cuz then the zombie players can have a fair chance but some people that like sneaking behind and melee attacks can be happy too.

here we go.. this can be a signle player mod and a multi mod too... u can be a gun wielding zombie ( well i was actualy planning soem gun zombies and some normal zombies but who would wonna be slow and try to slap ppl with guns?? ) or a marine.. so its like team deathmatch.. but there will be no gun bots... that sounds good.. and there need to be simple maps made
