I was wondering if anyone knows how to get enemy weapons to smoke and eject shells. I am busy building a mod and noticed that zsec soldier weapons do not do these two things. If any one knows how or knows a mod where this is done plz tell me about it. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Just a thought from me, maybe you can do that about the muzzle flash. Some light mods for weapons works over the muzzle flash and then you have a permanet flash light and the weapon together. you could try to change the light to smoke and let it only activate after the muzzle flash is finshed (sounds complicated, I know and I don't know if that realy works) :) . The other thing is, you have to lower the light/smoke to the muzzle of the weapon.

I made a first try, now the monster_zsec_shotgun has a fourth muzzle flash, a blue-grey ring, that looks a little bit like smoke. You have to work on the grafik and on the muzzle flash in the mtr and the md5mesh file (I took the grafik from the plasma gun, made it blue-grey and copied the settings of the plasma muzzle flash). I add my try as an attachment, extract the pk4, put it in your base folder and type during a game in the console "spawn monster_zsec_shotgun". (Better turn god mode before that on, then you can look at the smoke (better my smoke tryout) without ruffle.

I used smoking weapon effects in BattleReady mod. They are really simple. All you have to do is add a particle effect to the existing weapons muzzle flash particle effect. This new effect should basically consist of smoke that is only effect my gravity. That was it rises off the gun. This is not terribly difficult.

As for ejecting brass from enemies, it should be pretty easy. I have edited the player's ejected brass a few times in BattleReady but i never messed with enemies. Im pretty sure that brass efection is an effect of the player firing, in other words... i dont think monsters can do it.

If it isnt an effect of hte player firing hten it should be really simply code transplants.
