Everyone I've talked to would like to see a co-op play for doom III, for up to 2 - 8 players. This would probably require larger spaces (it's hard to have a firefight in single file walkway). But I have a cool idea that would require the co-op team to split up, but keep in radio contact (teamspeak?). Have an objective that requires two actions done at nearly the same time, example: two levers, switches, computers, or some combination of one of the two have be used at the same time inorder to provide a desired action (open a path to a certain area, drain an area of gas or liquid for safe passage, stop a reactor from blowing up, keep the ice cream from melting, whatever). And of course, even though the team is split up in two, they're both getting attack by the evil monsters. Then after the action the two teams meet up at a designated area to be one team again. 4 players would be great for this. One person trying to do the switches or operate a computer while the team mate keeps the monsters at bay. There would be lan partys galore for this type of game play. The only problem with the death match is that there's always the players that excel in that area and leaves the others in their dust and if you're the one getting shot all the time it's not much fun. I play in a group of about 6-8 people and we're all hoping for a co-op mod for Doom III.
I would die without GF

It certainly sounds entertaining Mdduke, and I expect that developers of the Doom 3 co-op mode, or other such modders, may create such. However, I think that this idea is better fit for suggestion in the Modding forum.
Very interesting indeed. I'm game for it.
Oh how I wish I could mod. This would be a pretty cool idea, providing really interesting gameplay. I really hope some modding teams consider something like this.
