Just started playing 1.4. Many of you may have had the pleasure of killing me...
These are my thoughts so far (excuse if they've already been said):
- The Volley Gun and the Molotov, make 1.4 many times better (more fun) than previous versions.
- Number one annoyance is that using the extra weapons banks mean that if you have one of those stupid ergo keyboards (split in the middle) you end up having to use your mouse hand to switch. I saw that there were some binds that could help with this I guess I'll have to figure this out (never used binds before).
- I've noticed a few little glitches but nothing major. They may all be due to me lagging (I'm in Canada and your server is overseas). The single six gun can be shot 8-9 times before reload (not sure that actual bullets are being projected, but I get the sound). Same seems to happen with the twin pistols.
- As sheriff I sometimes drop ammo which I cannot pick up no matter how often I go over it.
Anyways it's a lot of fun, good work! Only wish more people were on when I'm around.
Hi Jack. I like your handle but can't remember what movie it is from. (probably more than one....)
The ammo drop/pickup issue is because you are carrying all you can. Shoot a single round and you'll be able to pick up an ammo pack again.
Ohhhh... Duhhhh... I don't like it as much then
(And I thought you were commenting about my post!)
There was a movie about a guy (played by sidney peutie (spelling???)) who built a church for a bunch of nuns. I thought his name was Jack Handy. It was good to see another name in the lists!
I wonder if the Jack Handy from SNL was a play on John Candy (as Jack is a nick name for people named John). Oh Well
As to the rebinding, I think it's only nessisary during beta testing. But creating scripts and binds are fairly easy. 1. open up notpad 2. copy & paste in the binds that you wish to use (I try to throw them all in a quote so ya just copy whats in the white box) 3. hit [save as] and make sure you have the show all files checked (else you'll get a txt file 4. then make sure it has a .cfg on the end (like bind.cfg) and save in your ww directiory.
You already are playing with binds if ya didn't know. every key you use in the game is a bind. I think I'll throw my current bind.cfg file up here somewhere so folks can take a look and what it is and possibly give ideas about how to make thier own scripts. (always practice them before using them in important games) for you'll discover weird results every now and then. (like if you forget a -attack after a +attack, you will shoot through every weapon you have till your left holding a ticking grenade that you can't toss :O )
