Would it be within rules to upload some of the larger (100M +) files as bittorrent files and then post the links on the files page? Im just thinking that i already have a lot of the files and have no problem seeding them. This occurred to me when i was having trouble downloading dafama2k7's unpredictable d3 v1.75 which comes in at a whopping 400M and i had a look around for a torrent instead.

I realise This may be off topic so if you have to move it then please do so!

FAQDo not ask for 'No CD' cracks, CD keys or help with mod chips. Do not discuss or post links to sites that have roms, sites with illegal video or audio downloads, or anything that could potentially violate copyright laws. If you think it is a questionable link, do not post it. P2P Sites and links are not allowed to be posted. Face it, we all know that they are used 99% for downloading illegal content. Bittorrent is an exception, and only in certain cases. In such cases, a staff member will approve the thread or post by posting in it to show legitimacy.

And I approve it :)

Gift is approving the posting of torrent links for a mod or mods that the OP is looking to post. Yes that is an approval as the rules and stipulations state.

Thanks Gift. I''ll use Bittorrent.com as they only track legitimate torrents (as far as im aware)

Dafama2k7. A torrent file is a distributed file network similar to P2P but is different in the way you share your files between computers. Google "bittorrent" if you want to know more but basically id like to upload a few mods so that they hopefully get higher coverage and some of the bigger mods that are harder to get, like your unpredictable mods have an alternate download source. With the mod owners permission of course!

Hmm turns out i cant use Bittorrent.com cause they require you to have uploaded to a server first which seems backwards to me but there you go, ill find another decent one

Google is your friend. Other than that, we can not educate you to the effects of Torrents.

As long as you dont post links to sites that provide illegal torrents it's fine. Just upload your torrent somewhere so people can download from it. A mod is perfectly fine, warez are not :)
