I'm interested in producing some audio for another mod, and would like to speak to whomever was responsible for the weapon sounds in WildWest so I can ask some questions.

My email is: jhclouse (at) juno (dot) com. Please contact me as soon as possible. Thank you!

I didn't work on the beta release, but I made my own sound pack for the mod http://www.rtcwfiles.com/file.info?ID=7301 and had a few people dl it and use it.Bolty and Hewster never contacted me on using it or parts in a future release, but seeing how dead the mod is now, I doubt this will ever go any further..people just don't accept mods in this community? Yes, I hear this a lot, and I guess facts are facts. This mod was a darn lot of work for a couple guys, but I suppose if there isn't some kind of "money" marketing involved, everyone feels that they will wait around for the next "thrill" and then buy it or steal it.

This is a topic I wish would get more discussion, and deserves a thread of its own, Det Pak. There are those like yourself who try to contribute to the community and maybe appreciate the mod for what it is, "really a whole new game". Others will constantly compare it to the feel of RTCW MP and compare it to that.

I would like to think that Bolty and Hewster are inundated with the liklihood of "something else to come" for WildWest. As for me, I have put lots of time into mapping for this mod, and plan to continue with limited time available. Obviously, anything I do isn't going to be the salvation of any game, but I still feel it's worth it because I appreciate the game. I can't say if any of the "big time" experienced mappers are considering, (or ever considered), doing maps for WW or not. Bottom line is that we all do what is right for ourselves I suppose. It would be a pity to see this mod go away.

Just wanted to say that I still think that WW is a great piece of work. I also think you deserve a "thank you" for your contribution.

Everyone's waitin for DOOM III maybe?

Thanks for the compliment,I have spent a few hours doing some sound effects for some of the .."Big time" mappers Haakon Myhra,Menzel,RivrStyx,Rummie,Xceptnone each one of those guys have tremendous talent and I'm in awe that I was able to help out with super maps like Resurrection,Normandy Breakout, the Special Edition maps Rummie reworked,Haakon's Vemork, and the in the works mp_Lofoten. Xceptnone has been reworking "The Final Stand" and hopefully?? may release it soon. As to the WW mod,I was really impressed with what Bolty and Hewster did,I haven't seen a lot of posts by them lately,it says one of three things. They're too busy with the next stage of the Mod,They're taking time off from the Mod..or they've abandoned the Mod? I would still be willing to put time into the WW mod if they do decide to continue.doing sound effects is a nice way to contribute to the gaming community. Only time will tell. Det Pak
