hi, even though I read an earlier thread and disabled first:cd burner, second dvd drive....I still get a "u are using a cd/ dvd emulation programme--can't find disk one--disable all emulation programmes" no flahs disk in, everything disconnected from usb, even reinstalled doom3 entirely..... doesn't want to start! win xp, service pack 2, on an athlon 1,4ghz all drivers up to date..... can anyone help??? greetings fliwa

You have to remove the emulation software from your HD.

Daemontools is one. I hear that Alcohol 120% and Nero will cause this error as well, even after an unistall. Going through and removing all traces of it might work. Possibly cleaning them out through RegEdit, as long as you can navigate through that safely.

SP2 is full of issues on it's own, and trying it again with that uninstalled might be worth a try. Other than that, I think a format and restore is about the only option. My buddy had this same problem, and we did that and it solved it as far as I can tell. One of his RAM sticks is dead so he's under the minimum required for Doom 3 and it won't let him play. :uhm:
