The command I have for loading Doom 95 is: give doom95 but it doesn't work. Is that command wrong, or is the whole Doom 95 thing a joke?
I guess noone knows the answer. Doesn't work for me either.
Well being that alot of "old" and "classic" games such as doom, don't work with windows xp. Perhaps it was a feature added in that they didn't realize would conflict with windows XP.
The original Doom 95 was written for a FAT32 system ( win 98/95 ). Doom 95 was started in MS-DOS. If you have a executable for doom 95 right click it then go to properties ---> compatibility ---> then select the option "run program in" try running it in a windows 98 compatibility mode that windows XP or 2000 offers. If its a console command, you may be entering it wrong ( eg. case sensitivity, spaces put in wrong place, no underscores etc. ) Good luck

: ) That's a very intelligent response. Altho, i think slightly misguided. He was referring to the "code" command for doom III. Which states that when you enter the command you could play doom95.
:) And since the game would be the one executing it it's not much you could do to "make it work" for windows XP.
It was probably a feature they were tinkering with until they realized it conflicted with XP. And most likely forgot to take out the command.
But, then again... who knows.
Ok, let me put it another way...has anyone gotten it to work?
