Hi El-Angel-Eyes,

Unfortunately I'm not great at mapping. However, graphics is my cup-of-tea, so if there is anything I could help you with just let me know (signs, textures, you name it). I don't know how hard it is to implement sounds in a new map, but that might be a thought too. I do agree that it's going to be a huge map, so the time has to be altered to give both sides enough time to conquer the flags. Or if possible just run a server which will only run this map, this will attrackt more players who will love a great cp game.

Well that's handy to know that you do textures, and signs, etc. As I that is where my patience ends with pc's. This is why I admire people who have the patience to site down and actually design such intricate models and textures. In the old days of programing I was involved in quite a few computer games and programs, but as I got older I find my patience with such detail is lets say short. Anybody remember James Pond for the Amiga? Well some of the music code was actually done by myself and a mate of mine. A long time ago i've got to admit, oh happy days of blocky graphics.:dance:

I've actually asked the question about sounds in another thread, elsewhere in this forum. From what I can gather it's a straight forward process, but I can't comment yet on how straight forward it is until i've tried it. :rock:

Hewster What we need are more quality mappers that can apply their talents to the WildWest style of mapping (hot bright & colorful, not dark grey and dull.. lol) Having said that, the new town map I am planning (bassed on Town) will be a night time map :) (don't expect it any time soon though :/ )

I thought you said bright and colorful? lol I don't know if I'm a "quality" mapper yet, but I'm thinking of banging out another map. How does an abandoned mexican village map sound? It'll be hard to do, since abandoned means it'll have to be in illrepair, unlike the clean battlecreek. I have only decided that it'll feature a new game type. Like only one checkpoint you have to hold for 3 minutes or something. It can be at the center of the town with both teams spawning around it. Can't get more balanced than a circle!

yere i like the dusty streets, with sallon, plenty of roofs and stairs..balls of spinafex rollin down a street.. with the jail typical, old wild west towns.+ i guess there easier to make , just guessing...than a running train, but the concept is imaginable, gun fights on the roof to steel to pay roll, or some thing along those lines.....can,t wait any way for your next map m8

Train robbery sounds cool,

I think it was Soldier of Fortune that had the level on the train forgive me if that is incorrect,

You could even make it so sections of the train could be blasted by the engineer (ie coupling between the passenger cars) this would gradually reduce the playing area, Obviously only some or you would end up with just the engine which could be a nightmare, lol

or you could have switching on the tracks that if shot at would change the route of the train. It could even stop in certain area where both teams would have to race to get an objective before the train pulled out of the station. If you miss the train you either have to kill yourself or possibly you have to jump on one of those funny little things that you see in the old movies where to guys have to pump the lever up and down to get the carridge thing to move (I hope that explain what I mean enough).

Its been said already but I aggree whatever map you consider doing bolty it will be cool.

hey....this sounds like it could be an awesome map!!! also sounds like alot of work to produce it tho...hope it gets good consideration.

Hey Jones. Wow, you're up to 6 posts. :) You were talking to Bolty, but did you check when he posted the poll about new maps? ;) lol Yeah, I've done some preliminary work on a train map (thanks in part to Bolty's), but may or may not get it done for this version of WW. A lot of it would be hacked to get it to work. And hfx_rebel, I agree that it would be cool!

now see....IMHO as a new member of this totally wicked mod, thats what i like to see, encouragement, not arguments. ;) lol
