Hello, I just purchased Doom 3 yesterday and I loaded it up as well as the ver 1.3 patch and I am having an issue with the game halting mid-way through the intro where the spaceship is landing on mars. I will post my system info if that helps although I am certain I have more than enough of the sys requirments to run the game. I have also tried reloading the game several times and also tried downloading the patch from different sites. EDIT #1: System Info: Windows XP Home w/SP2 AMD Athlon 2800+ 1022 RAM Directx 9.0c ATI Radeon 9600 XT (driver ver. 6.14.0010.6542) SoundMAX Digital Audio (driver ver. 5.12.0001.3663)
Having trouble uploading sys info for some reason. Will keep trying. :uhm:
Well since I can't get the attachment to upload I'll type it in manually... Windows XP Home w/SP2 AMD Athlon 2800+ 1022 RAM Directx 9.0c ATI Radeon 9600 XT (driver ver. 6.14.0010.6542) SoundMAX Digital Audio (driver ver. 5.12.0001.3663)

I'm certain it is not your System. Maybe you should try to: - Install the latest drivers (Don't know whether the one you are using is the latest, I use nvidia) - Reinstall the game - Try running the game without the 1.3 Patch and see it is due to the patch it self.
First off, thank you for taking the time to answer my post. Still having the same problem and no luck getting past the first cinematic sequence. I have reinstalled all the drivers for my sound and video cards. They are the most up to date drivers available. I also downloaded the new chipset drivers for my motherboard. I have no other programs installed on my computer at this time, it is virtually CLEAN. I have tried playing Doom 3 without any of the patches installed as well as with patch 1.1 and patch 1.3. I tried loading older drivers for my video and sound cards trying to find something that would click, with no success. I have reloaded the game itself probably a dozen times and the same halt is occuring. I have to say that I am almost fed up with computers and gaming on a PC in general. You are constantly "tweaking" things just to get games to run and it is very time consuming and frustrating. I think I am just going to go buy an XBOX and just buy those games, as I know they will work without any headaches. :( Thanks again
