Machine: AMD 2800 512MB DDR ATI 9800 Pro Partitions: C (small boot part), D (main drive) I have installed DOOM III on D: on my machine. When I try to run the game it asks that I put DOOM III Disk 1 in the CD-ROM. Problem is, it's already there. The game can just never find it. The CD-Drive is working fine. Any idea what this might be. Frustrated because I can't rUN DOOM III! regs, webnuts4u2

Try right clicking the cdrom drive and going to autoplay.

And if you mean that it doesn't even show up on your cd rom drive... then i'm wondering how you installed it.

This can happen if you have a burned copy. Happened to my friends copy of BF 1942.

I installed it fine, and no it isn't a burned copy. It show up as in the CD-ROM drive, but when I pop it in, the flash screen comes up with the options of Play, Uninstall, Quit, etc., then I choose Play. The computer then displays the message (Cannot locate DOOM 3 Disk 1) "Please insert DOOM 3 Disk 1, select OK and restart application." But the correct CD is in the drive.

I have the very same problem. It keeps asking for "Disk 1" even if it's already there. I'll look into the .exe solution and hope for the best. I got the "large box" version from Sam's Club, assuming the content is as legit as any ;-)
