RAM is always a good choice for an upgrade, and I'm frankly surprised that you have been able to play Doom 3 on 265mb. In this case your RAM is exclusively due for an upgrade. Not only should you be able to set your graphics quality higher, but you should experience better framerates as well. :)

Try www.pricewatch.com I've heard they got good stuff for as low as you can go, as low as twin sticks of 512MB PC-3200 DDR for $90, and twin sticks of 1GB PC-3200 DDR for $200. I never tried it, but give it a shot.

^ It will probably run it, but not on high details. The GF FX5200 is a crappy card (I have it too) and I can only run on low low low.

It would improve a lot. I can only run most games on low settings (except for HL2), while my dad (he has a Radeon 9800PRO) can turn it all to high. But I'm planning to get a new card, a GF 6600(GT?)
