To sum it up, all my drivers are up to date and I have tried all kinds of settings from ultra high to lowest low: characters stutter and slightly choppy, occasionally. My specs: ASUS P4S8X MB 7200 rpm 40 gig HD 128mb GeForce4 Ti4600 Vid Card 3 sticks of 512 333mhz 2700 (1536RAM) Sound Blaster X-Gamer 5.1 P4 2.53 MHZ processor 52x cd drive One fraustrated Doom player I believe a patch is in place for this fix somehow, if possible, quickly. Four other freinds of mine all have the same problems (stuttering voices and jerky play) and each of them own high end computers as well. Is there any other possible way to help stop this D-D-DOOM madness?:feedback:
Hm, if you get choppy visual with your specs, then in my PC the game won't even run. :(
yo check out the ,,super performance boost,, thread.. worked for me... tell me if it works ok??
yeah, what manslaughter said. I have a Geforce Ti 4400 card and the game kept freezing on me. I tweaked the doom config file and now the freezing has stopped.
I changed the [seta image_cacheMegs "xxx"] to [seta image_cacheMegs "256"]. I have a gig of RAM.
I tried the 'performance boost' information :deal: but the problem is still there. :wtf: Thanks for the feedback anyway.:cya:
make sure you have your nVidia settings on PERFORMANCE , and make sure you DISABLE multiple monitors.
Still the same lame stuttering and jerky play. :uhm:
cough* ploy by nvidia to boost sales ^_^
maybe you should upgrade that graphics card. that may get you clear of the jittery part, which in turn may be able to have the voices keep up with the screen so that won't be as choppy either.
i wouldnt settle for anything less than a geforce 5900 xt.
Time to get a S-ATA hard drive .
Spend some money ! Don't even think that it needs a patch . There is nothing wrong with the programming . Of course not .
Go buy the most expensive video card and show your support ! Help bring the prices down !
