Specs: ADM Athlon XP 2200+ 1G DDR Rams Geforce 4 Ti 4600 128MB (latest drivers) Audigy 2 Zs (latest drivers) Windows XP Pro. sp.1-2 (let me know if ya need more) ok my problem is: i start up the game everything loads good but it freezes during the ID video (i think its ID) right before the main menu, but it still ends up gonig to the main menu, i have no problem there but when i start a new game, it freezes (sometime) for a few seconds during the ships arrival (when you see the ship on the computer screen, asking for permission to land i think) when i finally come to the game, you see all the computers on the walls good, the lights, etc, but background like the walls, floor, people, you only see black. i've tried MANY things that i've found all over the forums and sites on the net, like messing with the: seta r_gamma "1" or seta image_cacheMegs "256" i downloaded the Omega patch (i think its called) and no changes we're made, my game runs perfect (smoothness wise during gameplay) i also changed something in my BIOS that was mentioned in a forum but i don't remember what it was called, the point is, nothing worked, i still see totally black, please help me out...

If you think the video is screwing you up. Do this... Add +disconnect to the end of your shortcuts target line. Example: Right click your shortcut, goto properties. You will find a line that says "target" with some text in it, most likely it says "C:\Program Files\Doom 3\Doom3.exe" Just add +disconnect at the end. After the quotations so it looks like this "C:\Program Files\Doom 3\Doom3.exe" +disconnect Then close the window. Start up doom 3 and it will bypass the intro video. ____________ That solves the first half of the problem. But not the big one. I can't help you on that one without more information... have u attempted a re-install? [edit: apparently u did try to re-install] Perhaps it's an issue with your monitor? And if i were you i'd make sure you have up to date motherboard drivers. __________ The last thing i can think of without more information is Direct X... I suggest if you don't know what version you have that you hit up the directX site and download the latest. http://www.microsoft.com/windows/directx/default.aspx?url=/windows/directx/downloads/default.htm

^ The direct location of DirectX 9.0c

That it does. But perhaps you didn't click "yes" to install it on accident. Who knows.
