I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced a problem while playing the game where there are little white and red dots that flash on the screen. I am using a Radeon XT PRO 9800 video card with the new drivers and these dots keep flashing on the screen while playing the game. Just wondering if this was happening to someone else1?
Did you overclock the video card?

My system is not overclocked. Any solutions? Caliguy
Is Radeon 9800 one of the best cards to play this game? Maybe u should temper with the settings of the card like changing to "performance" and doing a few disables.
BTW how bad is the problem anyway?
Same prob with the dots. Radeon 9800xt 256M, not overclocked, 63'C. Started with Catalyst 4.7, tried the beta 4.9 Doom hotfix, even 4.6 and no change. Updated Directx to 9.0c and no change. Tried turning off VPU and Fast-Write (or something like that) on the vid card as suggested somewhere else, nada. "BTW how bad is the problem anyway?" - haven't played more than 10 seconds.
im having the same problem :(. theres like 13289123812983129873 white dots bouncing around the screen. -Radeon 9800xt 256 meg- i wanna play! :(
that sucks, obviously the game has compatibilty problems with that video card. do u have an older video card??? maybe a radeon 9700??
BTW anyone know if a radeon 9200 will work? I dont think so. I think 9700 is the cut off right? And the GeForce 5600? No?
Well this is just great! Upon launching the game, once I reach the iD logo video, I get a slideshow, and on the main menu, it is lagging at around 0.2FPS. I'm pretty much unable to do anything, as the mouse movement itself is lagging to the point it moves after 4-5 seconds or more. Sound plays perfectly though. I've got an AthlonXP 1600+ 1.4GHZ, 512MB RAM, GF3 Ti200 64MB, an 80GB 8MB drive, an SB Live, an LG 16*10*40 CDRW and other less important parts. I can't fathom what is going on. Had installed newest nVidia drivers as well as VIA's Hyperion 4-in-1s for my KT266A chipset. Restarted, let one user open only, with 165MB loaded at startup. Any ideas? Thanks in advance, Ede.
Your Graphics Card. :( its very low spec to be playing this game with.
Im running the Asus 9800XT and I have tried the latest drivers from Asus, The ATI 4.7 and the 4.8's and and latest beta's. I have no trouble with any game I play on my system. I do not over clock and there's is nothing wrong with my video card. It's something that the makers of DOOM3 should address. To say someone is getting red and white dots becuase they are overclocking. Is more of attempt to shift the blame to the other court. Evidently they didnt beta test it on every system. This is not the only forum where people are saying they are having the snowy effect.
