i've been trying to make some badges and banners for my army, however when i go to save them it tells me i have to merge them and when i do they get a white background and DoW wont read them, any idea why this might be? or is there anyone that will make them for me?

also can they be used online or only in skirmishes?

Are you saving them as .tga's? Here's how I make badges: Step 1: Find the image you want to use. Step 2: Open Adobe Photoshop, click File, New then edit the image size to 64x64. Step 3: Click Layer, then click New Layer. Step 4: Click File, Open and find the image you want to use. Resisze it to 64x64 or crop the piece of it you want, copy and paste it in a new document and resize that to 64x64. Step 5: Use the square dotted line tool (donno wtf it's called) and highlight your image that you've resized, hit crtl+c Step 6: Bring up your original blank image with the new layer, make sure in the window in the bottom right you're on the layer, not the background and hit ctrl+v This should paste your image on the layer in 64x64. The reason you do this is so that the background is left blank. That way what ever you pick in the army painter for your Secondary Color (Shoulders) will still show behind the image since the image is on a "layer" on top of the blank 64x64 image. Banners are much easier. No Layers, unless the image you want to use is less than the size of the banner. Just open up a new image, resize it to 64x96, click File, Open and open the image you want to use for your banner and resize it to 64x96, highlight it using the square dotted tool, copy and paste it into your blank banner. Now the important part and probably why you might have a difficult time with this if you're not using Photoshop. Save both the banner and the badge as targa (.tga) files to the according folders (badge in the 'badges' folder and banner in the 'banners' folder) Hope that simplifies things a little. As far as whether or not they work in just skirmishes or in online play as well, I'm not sure. I've been wondering that myself actually as I have yet to play any online games. Shit, the computer still whips my ass in hard. Don't think my skills are quite Über enough yet.

This question has been asked so many times before. Please, do a little searching before you ask again.

I did not suggest you were a moron. Only that this question has indeed been answered many times before. The background should be transparent. It will need an alpha channel. This will stop it becoming white.
