Just curious if anyone knows what is going on with this:
Something I jsut thought of - You might need to unpack some of the files from DoW, but I've got no certain clue.
i just took a look, and there are numerous of those files that do not even exist in my DoW directory. am I missing something?
Initialising mod WXP 1.0
What version of the mod tools are you currently using. It appears you are using 1.0 of WA, you might not be compatible. It is a basic error, but so many people make it.
Most of the warnings are perfectly normal - they're just the game's way of saying that it could have found files there but didn't (hence why its a warning and not an error). Failed to load archive means you don't have GotY edition, and the failed to open folders means that you don't have any overrides and so everything is being taken from the SGA files. I'm fully patched up and I'm on WXP1.0 as well. It's DoW that's 1.41
As for the final "failed to load", I don't know what it could be at the moment. What are the specs of your machine? it could be that you're on a laptop with an unsupported graphics card (the ME needs higher requirements than the game)
that's most likely it. i've got a really crappy vid card. will have to upgrade that and see.
I Got GOTY and still had this error, so here what's worked for me : The thing is that ( What happen to me ) it seem that the gameTool does not seem to understand that all the texture / audio / etc files are in the same folder. Concerning me, all i had to do was create folder path that it could not found. ( Of course it does nothing more then fool it ) as it reffer to Local.ini for the level of detail for model / sound quality... *If you Run the game at full capacity, just create the folder path should be ok If not, try to COPY the quality level u'r using to it's reffering folder. If i remember Data_sound / Data_Whm / Data_Shared_textures are the only folder you'll need to mess with
As I said, it doesn't make a difference with those warning messages of folders not found. If it can't find the folder, then it falls back to the matching content in the SGA files (which have the same folder hierarchy as it is looking for on the disk).
Seems strange that a GotY edition would fail to load the GotY SGA though, since that's where it stores all of the additional GotY maps.
i think the problem may be that i only have onboard video. sad i know. but the graphics option tool for DoW won't even run so this could be the issue.
