Heya' folks, Orky here, moderator of the Empires of Ambition mod forums. First, I'd like to apologize if I ramble in this topic, but I'm rather quite tired, so you'll just have to forgive me =P. Secondly, I'd like to ask that you take the time to read this topic from beginning to end, as it does offer quite a bit of opportunity to everyone. You've probably never heard of Empires of Ambition. This is because it is an entirely new universe that has nothing to do with w40K. You see, to make a long story short, this "Project" was created over a year ago on a forum, where a guy called TheCurryLord basically said to come and make up your species, factions, and whatever else floats your boat, and then it'll be thrown into the mix of the constantly expanding galaxy so that the creators could role-play, write fiction, and make mods out of it. Although a bit far fetched at first, it attracted a couple of people (Including myself) and for the past year we've been building a whole database of species, factions, history, characters, stories, technology, ect. Well I'd just like to say that this is and always will be open to the public, so even if you can't contribute to the mod, you can still contribute to the fluff all you want. The link is on the Mod's site, and because I do not wish to break the rules of FileFront, I'm afraid I can't directly post it (Though if you scroll down you'll find the Mod's address). So, if your still reading this (Which I thank you for), then your probably thinking to yourself why you would want to participate in this mod when you could be helping out a mod like the Death Korps of Krieg (Which I looking forwards too) or some other mod that is more familiar to you. Well, for one thing, we are accepting people of all varying skills, from Voice actors to modelers to skinners to effects artists of all experience levels, meaning that if your a new-comer to the world of modeling and are worried about not being good enough to do models for a w40K mod, the EOA mod is a good practicing ground (Though obviously we'd like you to do the best you can do). We'll provide you with the appropriate information, and when possible, pictures for the models (Done by our Forum artist "Coss") as well as descriptions, but that doesn't mean you can't slightly change a minor thing or two. I'm sure no one will mind if you decide to add an extra pouch to that Imperial Rifleman's flak jacket, or a scorch mark on that COUP warrior's helmet, ect. Another possible appeal is that you'd be on no time limit, instead working on your own pace (though don't push it; I don't think anyone wants to wait a year for that listening post to be finished =P) and would be opened up a small but friendly community that would probably end up treating you like a God (*over dramatization*) considering how badly they want progress on the mod. Also, as mentioned earlier, you, like everyone else, would be free to make "Fluff" in the Empires of Ambition Universe, as well as your own species/factions/ect, though that doesn't require activity in the mod. Oh, and by the way, we already have a beta up and running (Though it's not released yet; Currently the only Coder, Scarab master, is working out the last few visible bugs.) So the Requirements? Glad I asked. For Modelers/Skinners/Animators A copy of Dawn of War: Winter assault A copy of 3Dsmax (and the knowledge to use it) For Voice actors A mature sounding voice For sound effects artists A little bit of imagination =P. wow. I like the sound of it! But I'm sure Relic doesnt allow you to use 40K universe races if the mod has nothing to do with 40k. Hence you'll have to have a full mod conversion. I was told that by Grunt123 of the StarShipTroopers Mod. Just FYI.

Sounds very cool. Best of luck with it, I like the idea of universe where many people get to use their imageinations to create stuff.

DenseHavoc: Indeed ;). We do have quite abit of pictures/information currently set on the species, but nothing is quite etched in stone yet. RangerLogan: Currently it's just for winter assault. Once we get the mod tools for DC, however, we're going to add another race (The Solaans; renegade Plant-machines basically =P) aswell as two new units for each currently existing race (Scarabs, Human Empire, and Confederacy of United Peoples (COUP)). Somehow, I thnk the mod works with all versions of Winter Assault (Or atleast, When I had 1.4 it worked, and now that I have the newest patch it still works), but to give a safe answer I'd say it will deffinatly work on the newest patch (The ony you get with Dark Crusade) and Possibly older ones. Saoreire: No worries, all of the races in the mod (aswell as the universe) are completely new. No space marines or Orks =P. We're just using the default models for place fillers until we get new ones. HelloCookie+Sl4sh: Thanks! :). By the way, sorry I didn't give more info about the mod, but I had been up for nerely 24 hours when I wrote the topic and was pretty tired. Currently, the Mod has 3 species in it: The Scarabs, The Confederacy of United peoples (COUP), and the Human Empire. All three are completely new races with all new stats, upgrades, units, and abillties. And also, all three armies have AI for them aswell. - Orky.

All of what Orky said is correct. Any help would be greatly appreciated.:D @RangerLogan: The mod is applicable with the latest and the second latest WA patch, and possibly the patch before that.

Hey Scarab, good to see you here. Anyway, sorry for shamelessly bumping this thread once again, but as always, if anyone could contribute to this mod in anyway whatsoever, We'd really appreciate it.
