I'm not sure what the cap for turrets are but I feel like its too little.

You can't even put 1 turret per strategic point.

I'm trying to build my own mod but can't find the cap for support platforms for the eldar in the DC Mod Tools Attribute Editor.

Can anyone let me know where I can find that and the caps for the rest of the races?

As far as I know it's 5 turrets per HQ, why would you need more turrets than that? If you do need more build another HQ.

Turrets can ruin the game. There is nothing more annoying then someone filling up their entire side with turrets because they know they can't win any other way. Turrets are improved now because they are more strategic, but are still little more than an annoyance and a way to briefly avoid the inevitable.

Use mines if you can't use turrets, they are just as effective.

And it depends on what map you are one for strategic point cover.

I can imagine wanting to have more turrets! :) If you are using Corsix's mod studio you want to go to Data/attrib/ebps/environment/races/eldar/structures/eldar_support_platform_cannon_sp.rgd

Inside the rgd, tunnel down:

GameData/requirement_ext/requirements/required_1

There you will see a line, "this_structure_count" "6"

Change it to whatever you want, or delete the line to make them unlimited. All the other races work basically the same. I hope it works out for you!

Wow I didn't know about the 6 per HQ. I found a mod that changes the amount of turrets. Modding DoW seems like too much work right now. I'll just stick with Annihilation Mod.

It raises squad and support caps so the enemy can deal with the turrets I place at the strategic points.

I'm not very good at RTSs so I need a little extra help. I never play online cause I know I suck =p

Sorry it didn't work out for you, but modding isn't that bad once you get into it. I really do recommend Corsix's mod tools. I thought I could never do it either with the Attribute Editor! I have never liked online play against other players either, but really like co-op games. There are a lot of great scenarios out there where you and a friend (or someone you never met before) can go against an IA superpower, working together. That's more what got me into Dawn of War anyway, and it really is a lot of fun!

Well with the mod I found it defeats the purpose of creating my own mod, since it does exactly what i need. Thanks for your help though I appreciate it.

FYI, if you use Corsix, you can do anything. I currently have a mod for fun with a squad of death (ill put it out in a few weeks).

It's 4 turrets per HQ for necrons, 6 for IG, SM, CSM, and Eldar. I don't think the Orks have a limit on Waaaagh Banners.
