I suspect that there is some way to make your own custom badges and banners for use in DOW, but how? i cannot find the option within the army painter. could anybody here enlighten me? it would be nice to create a good black templar badge, the current one is far too gray and fady.
Well thare is a program called photo shop if you get it you make a bage or a banner when your finished you save it move the bage or the banner in progeram files thq warhammer 2.Thare are to files in the top left corner bages or banners put the files in the fils like put the bage in the bage file or put the banner in the banner file and then see what happens if it dose not work ask some one else.
"How to make badges and banners" by IBBoard might be a start :)
Also, if it's just that you don't like the existing Black Templars then have you seen Hangar-8's badge and banner page? he has some of the best and most detailed badges and banners on the net. None of this poor-quality "lets just copy and paste any old image I can find" stuff that gets on to DoWFiles sometimes, but proper hand-made works of art (from him and the 'hosted artists' at least).
sorry about that IBBOARD, i would have gone there if i had known. thank you for the links! the badge and banner page is particularly useful, but where do i find the badges? so far i can only find banners... excellent black templar and blood angel banners, but no badges!
i would find the making badges useful as well, but i do not have photoshop and find it rather difficult to use.... are simple images from paint or digital camera appropriate?
of course a black templar icon from this site you gave a link for is probably much better and easier.
All of Hangar-8's personal sets include badges (as far as I know), he just shows the banners since that's where most of the detail is (a badge generally needs to be bolder and more striking)
You don't need Photoshop to make badges and banners. Any program that saves uncompressed TGA files will do (Photoshop, Paintshop Pro, The Gimp, even Corel Photopaint and Microsoft Picture It might be suitable). MS Paint wouldn't work, though, because it doesn't save TGA files.
well thats why ive spent two years failing to make badges. WOOP!
