Well I am finally back in the modding world after a long vacation! I just happened to stumble across Corsix's (my new hero to modding) sweeeet a$$ mod studio! It makes my work so much easier now. Anyway, to get to the point I would like to say that I am developing a mod for the Imperial Guard (favorite race) that turns them much more deffensive. Now I have tried this before and failed, but this time I have a feeling that it is going to turn out really good. If I can figure out how to put in Medel's models in my mod with the new mod studio then this will really be rock'n. So here is what I have done: Buildings health increased a lot More units can garrsion now Shorter transportation time for moving of units from building to building Leaders have been given increased hard caps Imperial Guard squad has been nerfed a lot ( low damage, bad accuracy, very poor health, very low armour ) All Guard units have been nerfed exept the vehicals (some have been buffed) Leman Russ has an inceased hard cap Almost 100% of the Guard research has been altered and now takes longer to research and ( its a lot of "ands" and uses of the words " a lot" I know) costs more to research I didn't make a list of the things I have changed but I do know that things have been changed enough to make the Guard much more deffensive. Just to let you know, this is great if you use it in combination with the Dawn of Skrimish Mod. You will get assualted from all sides and rely on your turrets and mine feilds to survive! As it stands this mod is about 75% done so it will show up here (this is with the time it takes for them to accept it) in about 7-10 days. I hope that you will enjoy this as much as I do, JUST REMEMBER: DOWNLOAD THE DAWN OF SKIRMISH MOD AND PLAY THIS MOD WITH IT The mod will be called the Hard Guard mod Hope you enjoy it when it gets out. P.S. I know this isn't an original mod idea so please don't rant me about how this has been many times. Also to let you all know, most of the mods that make the IG more deffensive have been made by me anyways!

I think giving the player a greater incentive to use mines (regeneration, stuff like that) is a good idea. Also, giving vehicles greater armour, but much slower. And the heavy weapons teams, give them a longer setup time, but lots and lots more defensive bonuses and far greater attakc power.

that and they already nerfed gaurd enough in DC, i think the basic troopies are fine the ay they are. make the leman russ have a upgrade option for a lascannon and make it so it has a knock-down blast like the ork leman russ. oh, and add cornel brom, (representing an officer) cuz gaurd need officers.

however, if you play on insane as another race, and play defensive agains tthe Ig, then you might have a very interesting game for especially beginning players, as the AI will have no idea the average guardsman has been nerfed and will use normal tactics with them.
