Just wondering how, and if anyone could give me a list of instructions ^^;
Well, first: the best program for me is ADobe Photoshop, you can download it whit e-mule or other program like this one. The when you have it you just need to put youre picture with a size, i made a base banner that you have on attached files, just put your image on there qhit cut and paste and save it as .tga (targa) and put it in your banner file on your DoW directory. The banner is the same but with the size of 64x64 pixels, i remarc put "pixels" not cm. then save it as .tga on your badge directory. Well i guess this helps you, nobody helped me, and i wanted it, when i see people who need it i help him.:P
thats pretty crazy dude. i like it. i have photo shop, but can you tell me how you did that?
I don't know what do you mean, but i also work with paint. With paint i open the image i cut, modify and all i want to the image there, the i copy and paste on photoshop. there i finish making the image, i put it lughts shades or what i want and save as .tga(targa)
I didn't make it!
oh yeah! thanks amon!!! this can help with my mod...hehehe...
but like, how did you get that crazy backround with the faces and everything. i tried to do stuff like that. but i failed miserably
Oh that it's not difficult.(i always work with photoshop cs) Just go to google and choose image search, then you search, souls, terror backgrounds, skulls, chaos, daemons, etc etc then you open it in photoshop(i'm writting this with my noose bleeding:s) open the photo you want on paint or in photoshop too, resize it to give the same size as the background, if this one is smaller. argh, the keyboard!!!!!!!!!!!.......mmmm... blooood:p copy and paste it on the bakground, then make the cnanges you want: I have the program in spanish, and i don't know if im going to help now. - to make shades, just go to the window that shows all the images you are using, rightclick on the image you want to add shades "fusion?"(right word?¿) options and select shade
OH and sorry for the time i last to reply, here is now 7:33Am, just look the time ago i replyed and calculate:P
Just some points:
You don't need Photoshop (and Piracy via eMule probably doesn't go down too well on these forums ;) ) you can also use Paint Shop Pro, The GIMP, or any other program that can save uncompressed 32-bit TGAs with an alpha channel (so probably Microsoft Picture It and Corel Photo Paint if you really want)
I made a tutorial called How to make Badges and banners - it turns up in the top few if you google for "dawn of war badges and banners tutorial"
I think you meant badges are 64x64px.
You need to use alpha channels to make areas transparent. Just making them invisible in Photoshop etc isn't the same and in-game they end up whatever color your program mattes to (usually white or black)
Theres a thread that's currently about half a dozen posts below this one called How to edit banners and badges and asks exactly the same things.
Good luck with the badges and banners.
I think I'll put this question on the FAQ, with a link to your tutorials if thats alright.
